Ok, so I'm seriously looking through the forums and my youngest climbs up on my knee, takes one look asks asks if she can look at the Ponies, I click on the link and 3 hours later we're still watching My Little Pony Season 1

Persian Myth? Greek Legend? Lessons on morality and the value of trust and friendship? . and that's JUST episode one. .

I have misjudged you My Little Pony. . I shall not do so again :)

(Got another session of Ponies with my kid again tomorrow . . I had to promised not to peek and spoil the suprises. . . . damn kid, leaving me in suspence like this B) )

So we have:

Pinkie Pie as Ash Ketchum
Twilight Sparkle as Chel
Fluttershy as the Dovahkiin
Raindbow Dash as the Scout
Applejack as Cooking Mama
and Rarity as Daniel...

seems legit.

Thats a legitimate opinion, not a useless array of words that don't hold any more meaning than the sum of their owners creativity. So yes, criticize all you want as long as it's constructive. Do I really need to point this out? Also, MOAR PONIES

The grunge effect is nice, but it really only works for background material.

When grunge is added to the whole picture, including foreground elements, it detracts from the whole picture when nothing else is there, such as text, logo, etc.

Basically, if you're going to do grunge, it needs something in the foreground.

I'd suggest masking out the mech/ponies/whatever the focus is, leave the background grungy, and the foreground untouched.

That would help make em pretty good.

Come for the ponies. Stay for the surprisingly mature stuff they hid in it. :)

My first run in with MLP was when I was very young, with the G1 stuff. Of course back then, I remember thinking it was stupid, as I was too cought up with all the 'boys' stuff, He man, Transformers, ect. Then I heard about FiM a couple of years ago, I was in college, and was just like "oh, new MLP, whatever... it's probably stupid as hell."

That was a mistake, a very close friend of mine, who's opinion I respect on media, kept talking about it. Finally she got me to watch. She started me on Griffon the Brush off. The Gilda episode. I was shocked at how, adult the series felt. Sure there were pastel pony's, but it was more than just that... the animation was amazing, the voicework better than most things I've seen in the past 10 years. And wait, what was this, continuity in a kid's show?

So I went back, started with episode 1, and I haven't looked back. It's so, absolutely good. [with the exception of a few episodes that has a rather, bad writer, and don't get me started on the wedding 2parter and how continuity breaking it is]

Then I started looking at the community, the sheer number of fanworks, music, video's, parody, artwork and story's... Then when John Delance got the part of Discord... then the fact that Hasbro's had to completely re-arrange it's PR to allow it's voice actors to do conventions... it just all spiraled, so fast.

Bronies have done soo much good for the world at large. Is there a percentage of the fandom that's weird? Yeah there is. But you know what, there's that same percentage of the fandom in Star Wars, Star Trek, and pretty much any fandom out there that's weird [rule 34 I'm looking at you]

In the end... I'm proud to be a MLP:FiM fan. I'm not going to hide it. And I'll wear my pride here in Mechwarrior Online.
