I'm actually wondering what bronies will do once the show is over. I honestly don't see it going past 3 seasons with out losing it's grounding and falling apart.

Hon. Squaresphere;

Look to the internet for My Little Pony if your fears are confirmed. If and when My Little Pony shrivels and dies, certain writers, and certain voice actors will be free to publish thier Melieu Bible and record character snipets that can be used to manufacture episodes on sites like Equestria Daily. Lauren Faust may even be able to participate through a pen name such as PhyrePhly or some such. Flash animation and video toasting are quickly becoming the purview of anypony with a passion. Add a little editorial and Cannon discipline from sites like Equestria Daily, and you could have a golden age of multimedia story telling that historians will point back to and say "Here is where it began".

Or we could all find something else equally as enthralling....

Who's up for another episode of "My Little American Idol Survivor"?

I said I've been tempted. I have no plans on actually carrying this out. I'll let the Elder Gods take care of them.

At the risk of spawning a vicious cycle, I've been tempted to post a pony in a different thread (as a response to a post that the offender made in some thread) for every anti-pony post in this thread.

No, no. That violates the rules, too. And the cycle results in everyone being doomed to a frozen, snowbound hellscape.

That would suck.

Hon. Mechwarriors;

I believe I may have an answer to the 6 to 1 filly to Stallion ratio in My Little Pony.

War.

More specefically, a lost war. The Ponyverse appears to be set in the 18th century or so... and some of the greatest upheavels in our history took place in that period.

Perhaps one of the reasons we do not see many Stallions is because of the Nieghponyonic wars.

Posted Image

Posted Image

It's not as if Equestria is short on the troubles necessary for such a hypothetical war.

Posted Image

In ancient times when nations bled themselves white in the bronze and iron ages, it was not uncommon for generations to pass in which 7 to 1 ratios of female to male populations would be suffered through.

In Isaiah 4:1 it says:

In that day so few men will be left that seven women will fight for each man, saying, "Let us all marry you! We will provide our own food and clothing. Only let us take your name so we won't be mocked as old maids."

Now given that the story produced by L. Faust and the one she wanted to portray were not one and the same due to Hasbro's vetos from time to time, I think it is fair to say that one heck of a war was fought to a phyrric victory in the previous 20 years leading up to MLP FIM. This should not be much of a stretch for the RPG Grognards who cut thier teeth on Dungeons and Dragons. MLP FIM is so over run with critters from the Monster Manuel I fully expect to discover one day that Lauren Faust had random encounter tables in her Mileu Bible.

My two bits on the subject.

Hon. Mechwarriors;

Pony and crossover are a natural fit on the internet. In my free association searches I came across a not safe for Winona crossover that is hillarious enough to mention, but crude enough to forgo posting. A youtube search will net you the video called...

Planet of the Ponies.

If you liked Planet of the Apes, this is worth a smile. If not, don't bother.

If evil ponies are your thing, then this is for you.

For those of you who prefer good ponies try this on for size

There are some really good pony crossovers. One of my favorite videogames of all time had a crossover with Friendship is Magic last year...

Hm. A friend of mine, who's a Silent Hill fan, brutally criticized that one after reading it, though I don't quite remember what his arguments were. Although as someone who's never played the SH series, I probably couldn't really comment on their validity anyway.

As for crossovers, I personally quite enjoyed Stargate: Equestria; unfortunately, the second story seems to be dead.

And there is, of course, The Thessalonica Legacy, which I think may have been mentioned already (I've linked it just to be safe, anyway).

As a long time silent hill fan, I loved Silent Ponyville. Yes it's alot of fan referencing to famous stuff in Silent Hill... but that's to be expected.

I do have one curious question that will help me figure out where your friend sits SNoble... did your friend like SH:Homecomming?

Hon. Mechwarriors;

The production values for the MLP FIM show was budget limited which also dictated the Flash CGI choice in artwork. As the show has become wildly inspirational among many artists across several mediums, the production values for MLP FIM fan art can be considerably higher.

I fully expect to see the fandom produce better pony than Hasbro will allow in the coming years.
