We've had Dr. Hooves, Indiana Jones and the Big Lebowski and a couple of others.
Could you imagine a Firefly crossover? Get Mal Pony to say his "I do the job, I get paid." line.
Spaceballs (imagine the Colonel Sanders/Scootaloo interaction....)?
Monty Python....(Spanish Inquisition, anybody?)
MacGuyver (+100 points for getting RDA and a duct tape cutie mark)
Hitchhiker's Guide (Two ponies with towels...)
Star Trek ("There's no intelligent life here, beam me up Scotty.")
Star Wars ("Help me, Pony Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope!")
and so on

We already had Star Wars...

My other at the time sent me the fic, said it just had to be read. and that I did, read it that is. And it's odd, it drew me in, it's similar in vien to "SAW" as for the viceral feel of it, It's got strong imagery and is one of those fics that if you get drawn in to reading something, will oddly suck you in and make you keep reading till the end.
That being said, there are several "Alt Ending" Fics that go along with it... my favorite is that it's a horror movie being made in ponyville.

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy creepy stories and games... For example, first time I played HL2 the Ravenholm-chapter it really scared the heck out of me, I kept playing though because it really made me want to get out of there! Need I even mention Amnesia? That game creeps me the **** out and not a single drop of blood is being shed unless you get yourself caught... reminds me, I still gotta finish it... *shudder*
Dead Space, you could argue that one goes into the same direction as SAW and Cupcakes and you'd probably be right, there's a certain difference to it though. First of all, there's a story to it, a *not based on insanity*-kinda story and you're killing monsters which are even more so trying to kill you... (tbh, gameplay got rather boring half way through so I put it away) Sounds like a cheap excuse but IMO, that's a major difference.
Obviously I don't watch too many movies and I never watched SAW to the end, but what I mentioned above is the kind of horror/creepy I can enjoy... If the whole plot only revolves around finding more and more gruesome ways to slaughter fellow men and the motives of the one doing it are only them being mind-boggingly insane... well, my opinion but that's just sick...

That post almost screams: "I hope he's gonna look it up nonetheless *trollface*"
Don't worry though, enjoying IZ as much as I did/do, I obviously looked up other stuff from Jhonen so I already stumbled across it...
Let's just say it's not quite as bad as movies and stuff along the lines and I can see a certain grim-dark humor to it which you also find in IZ, aside of that, instead of simply just emphasizing the slaughtering of people, the comic seems to be geared more towards displaying Johnie's twisted psyche. That's not to say I enjoy it all that much, I just think it's a different piece of cake...
