After 5 pages of 40 I give up - can some one please explain to me what My little Pony has to do with Mechwarrior?. Or is this just some fetish thing that would be more suitable on a different site. I am sure there are many sites dedicated to this paticular fetish and I am confused about why it was bought up here?

Its the off topic of off topic section of the forum, it doesn't have to do with Mechwarrior. That's why we have a Chuck Norris thread here, and a rap versus rock thread. I'm not even bothering on correcting the fetish BS.

Calm down, take a chill pill - it was meant as a joke! it is just an odd topic to have on a forum dedicated to mechwarrior online. I thought there might be some weird fan based connection between the two. I know it is off topic but still it is a tad strange but if you are just going to throw a strop rather than answer my question fine we will leave it there. Also there was mention of furries which is why I mention fetish.

MLP is a show, while obviously aim at younger girls, is surprisingly well made that actually has a more universal appeal with their message of tolerance and friendship. Since then the fandom has spread to other message boards where the fans tend to congregate to talk about the show with people that have similar interest outside of the show.

No worries WW, bronies sometimes get a bit sensitive since we're constantly being poked at by the larger internet/public for liking a "children's show". People incorrectly label all Bronies as Furries, which is not the case (yes some bronies are furries but not all of them).

As for why it might have appeared here, well there actually been some cross over fanfiction between Battletech and MLP. Actually, there's been quite a few cross over fics between MLP and other franchises that focus on Grimdark/worst that humanity has to offer. I suppose the novelty comes from them being 180 degrees opposite of each other.

Wasn't actually angry, but I can see how that could be read from my post. My apologies. I was just trying to point out that when in a thread thats in a double off topic section of a forum, you get anything. We come here to share our love of candy colored ponies, and pulse lasers. Or in my case SRM racks. I imagine if you check any given forum on the internet by now you'd have a good chance of there being either a pony thread somewhere, or rules banning our kind. Ocasionally both (something awful deserves it).

In related news.

Indeed! I know there is at least one other brony merc corp (Battle Bronies), but I have no idea as to their status.

I'm also getting the feeling that ponies are taking over Valve, or at least their voice actors, at the rate those videos are cropping up. As if the pony models in the games and all the voice-overs weren't enough...

You aren't supposed to mention the other guys, whatever happened to maintaining exclusivity over our brand! Speaking of Valve, I can reach for a tf2 reference; it's fun when people random join unknowing it's a pony server and spaz about it.

Apparently a lot of people like technicolor ponies, thus you are bound to find MLP related threads, pictures, and videos across the net. It isn't a weird fan connection between mechwarrior and ponies that is the reason for this thread. It's just something an increasingly large portion of the internet enjoys.

"Also there was mention of furries which is why I mention fetish."

I hope you realize that a large majority of furries are not into the whole fetish aspect of it, not to mention a decent number of furries don't care for MLP or its fanbase. I myself don't particularly care for the furry mindset and art, but I do know a few people who are furries, and I do know the fandom isn't based around creepy art or dressing up in fursuits. The perception that all furries are into that, is a result of the overly obsessive, fetish oriented side of the fandom that unfortunately got a bit too much spotlight.

I find it rather funny, but also sad, how people need to make up excuses to understand why older males like this show.

"They like MLP? Well they must be homosexual."
"Anybody who watches MLP is a furfag."

I guess it's hard for people to wrap their heads around the concept that there's others out there that don't exactly care about gender stereotypes, and don't live their lives according to the same principles as themselves. To which I say...

Not really being a Fan of MLP, I do like the parodies, and wouldnt ever think of ANYONE who enjoys it of being 'Gay' (Well ok maybe Gay in the true sense of the word as in Happy so change that to Homosexual instead of Gay). Live and let live. But as a form of Psycho-Logical (Notice the Hyphen it sooooooo changes the meaning) Warfare the only thing better is Zamfir and his Pan Pipes Blasting out from Huge PA's. Since it seems spreading Ponies through everythread is Frowned upon by the Staff and their ILK (dont ya just have how 'I' and 'l' look alike?) I'll (there it is again!!) have to come up with a subtler form of Psycho-Logical Warfare. I guess it will have to be anything I post should be considered P-LW.
Oh to Answer your Question Aresye...In my world everyones drunk & are promiscuous, thanks for Asking!

I mostly see complaints from haters saying we pony spam, crossover everything, and in general, "invade everything."

The funny thing is, both this board and the MWLL board have a dedicated pony thread that nobody deviates from, and other than that, I see maybe about 1/10 of recent popular deviations on deviantArt to be pony related. If that's their idea of an invasion, then I think they don't really comprehend what the herd can do if provoked.

Ex. If a troll tries to do something on my YT account, I tell my subscribers to go after him, usually ending up with their channel getting massively spammed, and their own uploads trolled by pony discussions and comments. It's nice having an army of 3500 bronies to do my will ^_^

I find this whole meme to be amazingly fascinating. My 4 year old daughter LOVES MLP in a deep and true way. I have watched some of the shows with her and they are not that bad. I have bought her a metric crapton of MLP toys. I have even indulged her in playing preend MLP with her toys (eeek). Seeing this meme from this angle puts a weird parental spin on it. Makes me feel old in a way that no other meme has. I do not dislike the meme, I find it genuinely funny BUT I also now have the desire to seriously PVP spank any bronies in MWO and say "Who's your daddy?"

At first I thought "Eridani Light Pony, that's funny".

Then "Oh, so there's some kind of a Mechwarrior/MLP meme..."

It's slowly dawning on me that people just love them some ponies.

Carry on you crazy bronies, years in the future puzzled historians and scholars will try to understand your electronic musings.

LOL At level 20 you must go on a question for something the gods have chosen and then choose your Sphere before you become an Immortal... or something.
