I have the full Twilight of the Clans series among others. Much of the stuff from the FedCom Civil War Era and both the collected and original Jade Phoenix trilogy as well as the reprint of Blood of Kerensky trilogy as shown in cdlord's post along with 2 of the originals. Both printings of Wolves on the Border and the original of Wolf Pack. I have Bred for War, En Garde, Decision at Thunder Rift and Far Country. I also have the complete Mechwarrior series. I have several Dark Age books as well. If I were at home I would dig everything out and put up the whole list.

I own all or have enroute to me now (thank you Amazon and Ebay) all of the published in english BT and MW:DA books minus Sword and the Dagger, which I'll finish reading this Saturday on PDF. I refused to buy that sucker because it's become something of a collectible and you see it for well over $100 most of the time. I got every other book I missing for .01 + $3 shipping, a dollar each at local book store or something similar to the above (never more than$4 a book no matter how collectible it supposedly is) in all cases.

Once I have them all, I'll read them all in sequence to get the full flavor! Since they are all so short and fair pulp fiction in their literary styles it won't take long at all to finish them.

I spent about $70 or so bucks to finish my collection tops.

Had them all up to Opertaion Excalibur.

The correct forum for discussing this is the Battle tech discussion forum:

http://mwomercs.com/...%ae-discussion/

There you'll find a great deal of talk and topics about the novels.

I read the Grey Death books - loved the 2nd and third.
Later tried some when FASA started cranking them out during the clan cycles, really didn't feel those.

I have, and have read all of the Battletech novels, along with the Mechwarrior novels. I started in on Dark Ages, but couldn't get into it.

I read a lot of the old ones, and I rencently got a torrent of all the Dark Age novels. A lot of people REALLY hated on Dark Age, both the books and the TT lore changes, but I liked them. They start off a bit slow, but as you keep reading (especially in release order) it's actually like one big continuing storyline throughout the 30 some odd novels. I'm on the 2nd to last book now and I've enjoyed the trip.

I stopped literally on the last novel of the original series... ENDGAME. I could never muster enough curage to finish that series. It would be too... FINAL. Even though, they continue in Battletech the Next Generation (I mean MechWarrior Dark Age). I never touched that stuff either. Most of the novels were bland, but a few of them (most or all of Michael Stackpole's and others). Even thnking about the novels is making me cry. I do not think I can continue posting.... sorry guys

I just got into the franchise, largely thanks to MWO. Recommendations from fellow Kurita samurai led me to acquire the following novels:
  • Black Dragon
  • Heir to the Dragon
  • Path of Glory
  • Wolves on the Border

Good stuff, can recommend them all. I've also begun to collect the various rule- and sourcebooks in an attempt to gain a deeper understanding of the cultures, history and technology of the Inner Sphere. Quite interesting. Can't wait for the upcoming release of the 2013 Handbook House Kurita. :)

I'm just about done with Decision at Thunder Rift from the Gray Death Saga, but I haven't read anything else. For some reason I thought it was the first book in the series, but apparently it's the 6th. So time to get the first 5 and catch up!

Rather enjoying the book. Riddled with typos and errors, but that's okay!

In the original series, most of the novels were mostly about Davion, Steiner, and the Clans. However, there were a few novels that dealt with the Free Worlds League more than others...

'The Price of Glory" - deals with the Gray Death Legion taking a contract with Marik and Comstar and discovering a lostech computer on helm.

"Ideal War" is about Thomas Marik creating the Knights of the Inner Sphere ultra elite unit (imagine Camelot and King Arthur but with Battlemechs) - the story was bland, IMHO.

Camacho's Caballeros novels KIND OF deal with the Free Worlds League since they come from them - but not really.
That would be...
"Close Quarters", "Hearts of Chao"s, and "Black Dragon"

Please note, there were several novels that dealt with the Free Worlds League and Thomas Marik - did you know (spoiler alert) he was FUGLY and ...

(The most successful Captain-General of the Free Worlds League (Thomas Marik) was not the real Thomas Marik and Victor Davion pretty much kidnapped his son and had him impersonated when his son died and Thomas Marik was very angry?)

And then he went all Jihad on everyone. The 'real' one that is. And the fake one became one of the greatest Marik leaders there ever was. Shows you how tainted that dirty Marik blood is.
