OP, you're really wrong though about RNR. RNR guaranteed suiciders, not teamplay. That's one of the principal reasons it's not in the game, because it was infinitely griefable and made the game less fun for people that didn't even care about the costs, because of the proliferation of AFKs and suiciders driving unrepaired mechs feeding off a free re-arm exploit and the cashprize just for showing up and losing. It's vastly reduced now but at one time it was a plague. It's not coming back according to the devs, because it made the game suck so much in so many ways they worried about still having a game.
No... RNR was a good part of this game, it was there at beginning, it was a core part of it. It didn't suck as you said, only thing we could argue is that how the devs messed up at implementing it. And then devs removed it just out of no where, you know throwing out things usually is cheaper and easier then to fix them, but its not always a good thing to do... For you and many maybe yes, for me an many others it wasn't, and game is still griefable as it was before, I did wrote it long time ago about it.
SSRMS are broken, Gauss is broken, LRMS are broken, ECM and BAP are broken, Matchmaker is broken, Modules are broken, Jetpacs are broken etc... lets throw everything out for God sake and it all be fixed. You were happy about idea of removing RNR cause it suited you, not that it was bad for the game itself.
But I do not agree with OP about choosing to match against premium, or non premium. Training grounds is only viable solution to this problem. Nothing will eliminate griefers tho...
