And that seems to be the problem. Who will play the 18 released mechs, when Mad Cat, Vulture and co appear in the Battlefield.?Community warfare should be fights between IS- mercaneries and house troops? Never. There will be tons of (....) Prydes, Wolf, and Kerenskies who want to conquer an empty IS.

I admit, I'm only interested in these because they have visually appealing designs. The fact that they're actually decent chassis is just a nice side bonus.

...If i had the money i'd make a First Succession War game.
...Or a Jihad era game.
(Stuff the 3rd SW, there's only about 4 guns in that )
Right now i'd do anything to escape the 'Clan-Clan-Clan-Clan' dribbling on.
It's like the 'Spam' song from Monty Python.
The invasion was the most unbalanced era in Battletech history.
How about we scrap MWO in favour of "Timber Wolf v Dire Wolf" and you don't have to deal with those of us who played Battletech before the 386 and computer 'sim' existed and Mechwarrior was the name for the paper and pencil RPG attachment.
When we'd arrange a BT campaign, the Era it was set in was a big discussion, 3050 rarely came up for long as only trials were interesting. Clans had a big advantage. This was offset by successive TRO's and addendum, but 3050 was only interesting at first. Choose a clan, deploy 50-75 tonners, win. What a Timber Wolf can do to an Atlas is shocking, there's little need for ol' big bad Dire-Doggy or a Warhawk.
If you don't think that Clantech is going to be tamed just for playability's sake i feel you are in for a shock.
A Warhawk has the equivalent damage of 4 Gauss Guns in it's 4 PPC blasts.
I grant you it's a stupid idea to alpha strike them, but pairing them or chain firing is theoretically possible within MWO gameplay Mechanics. Pulling the LRM 10 off for more DH/S's would help, too.
Imaging the amount of frustration that would cause, in a 64Kph mech.
The Timby is a 86Kph mech that will eat just about anything non, clan.
I've had AS7's struggle to hit me in a de-tuned DRG, and that has FAR less firepower and armour than a T-Wolf.
And a quick reality check, we don't have all the IS mechs that have been announced yet, unless PGI are working on the Clan stuff synchronously and are testing behind closed doors, the Omnimech bleed is going to be ongoing also.
Then again, that would explain the job Ad below.

Though now, down the line, the Mad Dog and Timberwolf do look pretty enticing.
