Depends. I have a few Clan mechs I love, but I'd take certain Inner Sphere chassis over clan chassis any day. (King Crab fo lief. Screw yo clan mechs, yo.)

Only roleplayers would want to stick exclusively to an IS mech. That's also why the theories about future 5v8 and such just aren't going to work out.

And that seems to be the problem. Who will play the 18 released mechs, when Mad Cat, Vulture and co appear in the Battlefield.?Community warfare should be fights between IS- mercaneries and house troops? Never. There will be tons of (....) Prydes, Wolf, and Kerenskies who want to conquer an empty IS.

That's why the trial mechs will be there - providing plenty of cannon fodder to shoot at... (like I should talk! :P )

Yes and no. Captured ones, ok. But if forced to be in some stupid Clan instead of Inner Sphere? No thanks.

In most reguards clan mechs have supiorior speed a bit less armor but very inteligent designs when it comes to XL's.

Daishi would be pretty sweet if PGI implements Clan Tech properly

All I want is to pilot a Timberwolf. And maybe a Vulture. And maybe Marauder IIC.

I admit, I'm only interested in these because they have visually appealing designs. The fact that they're actually decent chassis is just a nice side bonus.

Calm down...

...If i had the money i'd make a First Succession War game.
...Or a Jihad era game.
(Stuff the 3rd SW, there's only about 4 guns in that :))
Right now i'd do anything to escape the 'Clan-Clan-Clan-Clan' dribbling on.
It's like the 'Spam' song from Monty Python.

The invasion was the most unbalanced era in Battletech history.
How about we scrap MWO in favour of "Timber Wolf v Dire Wolf" and you don't have to deal with those of us who played Battletech before the 386 and computer 'sim' existed and Mechwarrior was the name for the paper and pencil RPG attachment.

When we'd arrange a BT campaign, the Era it was set in was a big discussion, 3050 rarely came up for long as only trials were interesting. Clans had a big advantage. This was offset by successive TRO's and addendum, but 3050 was only interesting at first. Choose a clan, deploy 50-75 tonners, win. What a Timber Wolf can do to an Atlas is shocking, there's little need for ol' big bad Dire-Doggy or a Warhawk.

If you don't think that Clantech is going to be tamed just for playability's sake i feel you are in for a shock.
A Warhawk has the equivalent damage of 4 Gauss Guns in it's 4 PPC blasts.
I grant you it's a stupid idea to alpha strike them, but pairing them or chain firing is theoretically possible within MWO gameplay Mechanics. Pulling the LRM 10 off for more DH/S's would help, too.
Imaging the amount of frustration that would cause, in a 64Kph mech.
The Timby is a 86Kph mech that will eat just about anything non, clan.

I've had AS7's struggle to hit me in a de-tuned DRG, and that has FAR less firepower and armour than a T-Wolf.

And a quick reality check, we don't have all the IS mechs that have been announced yet, unless PGI are working on the Clan stuff synchronously and are testing behind closed doors, the Omnimech bleed is going to be ongoing also.

Then again, that would explain the job Ad below. :)

For me that is a tough question. On one hand i love the kit fox (uller), on the other the flea redesign is killer. I will have to hold back on that until I see the redesign of the clan mechs (they may be amazing). For now i am sticking with my role in piloting the flea and if something else comes out that has more style i may change my stance.

If you are going to be stomping around shooting up the place better make sure you look good doing it.

I only drive chassis that I enjoy. Some of these are clan, and some IS. So yes I'd drive a clan mech. I'd also continue driving the same chassis I am now. Just like 99% of the playerbase would.

Definitely want to pilot more mechs, but the catapult has gained a soft-spot in my heart after MWO (never knew it existed before, having only played MW2 many years ago). Would love to see the summoner.

never liked the idea of clan assaults - at least nothing below 70 kph.

Thor - maybe
Cauldron-Born - maybe

MadCat - NO
Dire Wolf - NO

Vapor Eagle, Kit Fox, Shadowcat, Cougar (fat chance of seeing the Cougar, seven years from now in current timeline).

Edit: Oh yeah, the Incubus too.

Yup. Came into the series under the tutelage of my folks with Mechwarrior 2, so Clan battlemechs, specifically those from that title, hold a special place in my heart. My father always favored the Nova, and my mother the Marauder II, but the Stormcrow was my unstoppable tool of 'mech destruction. They haven't played any games in well over a decade now, but I owe my hobby to those sessions of my Dad chanting "Shoot the legs, Shoot the legs!"

Though now, down the line, the Mad Dog and Timberwolf do look pretty enticing.
