Stop crying about catapult side torsos please.

From the side, their SIDE torsos are easy to hit. Learn to aim.

If they are pointed directly at you, their head is easy to hit, learn to aim.

For missile cats, they have these GIGANTIC boxes full of weapons you can aim for, learn to aim.

For ac20 cats, why are you even aiming at their torso at all? Their legs have AMMO, that EXPLODES. Learn to aim.

Right now catapult pilots are drowning in a sea of tears from children, meanwhile cataphract guass boats are sniping everyone with more ammo and backup weapons, 4 and 6 ppc stalkers are doing dual ac20 damage from 3 times the distance.

Here is the problem.

You pretend like every catapult is piloted by an *****.

What happens when that pilot is better than you, or equal to you. What do you do then?

Anyone can kill people who suck, with any mech. Its when you fight decent players and teams that problems pop up. How do you kill 2 pults closing in from both sides. once they get in close, which isnt hard because of the maps. You are screwed.

So damn tired of people saying things are easy. Yes, easy when you are against a noob, or a player in a trial mech. A well coordinated team can rush you so hard with heavy hitting close range mechs, that your entire team is obliterated within seconds.

Yes indeed.

Those arms are dangerously fragile. Lose one and you're down half your firepower. Lose both and you have no purpose but to draw fire or cap. I've run the A1 since CB and I'm of the opinion that it takes a lot of thinking to run one right. Most people can scrape up 300-500 damage in a run, but a really good cat pilot should top the charts without exception.

But that requires skill. I run a lot of mechs, but I prefer the A1 because I like stalking up on someone, creeping ever closer. 500m. Too far, run to that little hill. 420m, still too far. Run on the side of the terrain to avoid detection. 220m. Close enough to do damage, but not within effective range. He's just on the other side of that little mountain. Push to the little mountain. 130m and closing. Not long now...

Up close they're danger, but if you're outside of 200m you can attack without impunity. I might fire some SRMS back, but I know the spread is so huge it's like hoping for a MLAS worth of damage at that range. That's 5 damage out of 15 for each rack on a random componant.

The only thing that really makes them OP is the tendency for players to look the wrong way at the wrong time allowing me to get within 20m behind them. That's a surprising alpha, and in my opinion a difficult and well earned trophy.

While I disagree with the tone of the OP, the only thing more dangerous than a Splatcat with a good pilot is a COORDINATED TEAM.

It's not as though those two things are mutually exclusive.
You can have a coordinated team, which contains good pilots in Splatcats.

You can also have a coordinated team with 3 PPC Cataphracts and 4 PPC Stalkers that decimate everything that pokes its head out.
