it's matches with only 1 assault on each team, the atlas ddc is too much of a prize here;
and the flipside are matches with 7 assaults, my team had 4 awesome last match, it was worse than a few months ago, wth

The game has nothing in it to attempt to 'matchmake' Atlases with Atlases, only by weight class.
While being on a team of Awesomes vs Atlases is a rough ride, that's working as intended.
There are no considerations for tonnage. no considerations for ecm, no considerations for player skill, BV, etc etc. This is the exact same matchmaking we've had for basically the entire life of the game (with the exception of the 8-man queue system having been added in phase 2), any feeling of 'being worse' is not grounded in fact.
People are playing more Awesome because Awesome got a buff in the last patch, and anyone with a Pretty Baby will want to get it to elite as soon as possible.

no but i noticed before the matchmaker was trying to go: at least as far as i could tell
2 light
2 med
2 heav
2 asslt
------------- perhaps resulting in a lot of 'could not find matches'
now the matchmaker is trying to do:
either 7 mechs non assault (what i call a light match)
or 7 mechs assault vs 7 mechs assault (holy ****!)
am i the only one? haven't you noticed it's either too light or too heavy?
they might have done this to alleviate the ease of finding matches, i am pretty sure i noticed this trend
they lowered the bar on weight class balancing, the sway is always off regarding assault mechs

Lots of f2p players finally have the cbills to afford a heavy/assault maybe? Idk.

If you are noticing a shift at times with more lights than heavies, or vice versa, it's only due to the player base playing more lights/heavies than normal. The Shadow knows.
