The Chameleon Light Polarization Shield is something I personally hope to never see. I would rather face someone with the ECM that is in MWO now, instead of this. But, it is an interesting thing that many may not know about.

What it does: Makes you blend into your surroundings like a Chameleon. Almost, literally turning you invisible.

Word of Blake used this Null Signature System, and Stealth Armor to develop their Void Signature System.

If it wasn't restricted to certain chassis only (like ECM), then I don't think I'd have to point out which mechs would benefit the most from this...

Man, I could see so much accidental friendly fire as a result of this. I mean if you're invisible, you're invisible.

I feel bad enough when a quick friendly mech darts in front of me just as I fire weapons at an enemy and takes some hits from that, I'd feel really bad if I accidentally blew apart a friendly because I couldn't even see that they were in the way.

This is way out of the timeline...

Then again, so is Angel ECM...

Technically not. The Specter has a CLPS and Null Sig and it has been seeing covert deployments for field testing with some major merc companies over the past 2 years.

Angel ECM and Void Sig you are correct about, they are way out there.

I know it's way out in the timeline. Just figured some may find it interesting.

They may deside to jump ahead in the timeline if the game lasts a long while and there isn't much going on at that point in the timeline, at that point. Never know.

Predator!

It also, reminds me of "Active Camo" from Halo 2 and "Optic Camo" from the anime Ghost in the Shell.

but this could totally happen.
since the clan's attack is not a full year until the appearance of the infiltrator, that can evade radar without ecm?
just by virtue of it's armor

Except our current ECM implementation is basically Angel ECM with extra goodies on top.

I'd love to see Paul shove the Chameleon down our throats and call it a victory for game balance for good measure.

Because it is a form of active camouflage. 2 part system: Chameleon Light Polarization is the invisible to the naked eye part; while Null Signature is hides the 'Mech from the majority of other sensors, including thermal.

I don't know why but I've always thought that stuff like that just doesn't seem like something mechwarrior would have. Again I'm not sure why but it just seems out of place to me.

The description says that it was/is only available to the SLDF, ComStar, and Word of Blake. Most, SLDF stuff is considered LosTech. ComStar and Word of Blake are organizations with very tightly kept secrets (This included).
