I was reading some of the other posts and thought of a time it could work If your getting hot then you start hearing some popping/pinging. loud what ever exploding ammunition sounds like it might be a good time to bail...but you'd have to have time to hear it and then pull the cord...

Besides, while an ejection might be interesting/cool/immersive to watch...don't you think you'd get tired of it after having seen it a couple of hundred times?

Not any more tired of it then I would seeing the same rotating death cam a couple hundred times.

When the new Dropship Mode comes out, an eject button may have a use.
If you are out of ammo or your weapons are destroyed, manually ejecting might be a good way activate your next mech quickly.

Yeah that is another good point. Sometimes when I am in my brawler cataphracht I lose both torsos, both arms, and have literlly no weapons. I am down to a cockpit on a pair of legs. My only choice are run for enemy base, hide in the cave and powerdown or jun to the enemy and die.

At that point ejecting is a good option.

I have absolutely NO interest in providing quitters with a temptation to opt out of the match when the going gets tough. I would, however, love to see an ejection 'mechanic (har, har) for catastrophic damage and ammunition explosions. Just no button to tempt people to punch out - since there's no repair and re-arm (and the devs don't think it's coming backglee!) there's no need to allow the option to eject voluntarily.

This ones pretty simple guys, we can have our cake and eat it too. Make eject an action the player HAS to perform (as in NOT automated) but can ONLY do, in a specific manner. For exmaple Your mech has to be at 15% or less and/or other stipulations, than Betty chimes in with "Eject Eject Eject" at which point you can mash a magic button and bail out. No one can exploit it, it wouldn't be an every game occurence adding to the experience for everyone when it happens, you can give a salvage bump to whoever gets the kill and an EXP bump to the pilot who successfully ejected cause style points.

I was actually thinking about this the other day. Since most C-Bill rewards are performance based, Id like to see a penalty for dying and NOT ejecting. Like a -50% C-Bill reward if you didnt eject. Id like to see some sort of value in not dying other than KDR padding.

If someone is AFK farming, and ejects at the start of the match they can what, get a max of 50k C-Bills on a win? I forget what the win/loss reward is, but it's never really more than 1/4 of my C-Bill earnings per match. But if your CT is in the red and you are taking damage, why not create some sort of reward for actually surviving even though your mech goes down. Right now there is NO form of permanence in the game, you win or you lose, you die or you survive. Its all really the same right now.

Oh and yeah, maybe a damage requirement before you eject would help even more to stop farmers/griefers.

I'd prefer it be automatic, no ejection button. Otherwise I'm sure someone would find a way to exploit it in some fashion. So instead of just dying now, we'd eject. Just a nice cosmetic immersion feature basically.

I think a great fix would be to have the game continue as is except add like a 2 sec window or hell even 1 sec window after your engine pops to give you a chance to hit the eject button. This can be applied at the end giving xp/creds bonus for "not dying" in battle lol.
