The following is a quote from a post a few weeks backs, but ever since the patch last night I am getting the same exact problem and have never before had this in any of my 800+ matches played. my problem isn't limited to a certain mech or level it is doing it with all my mechs and all the maps, has anyone heard anything about this or have an idea why since yesterdays patch up to today it has been happening, and or a fix idea? thanks.

"Hi there,

Tonight both my friend and I were piloting Raven 3L's and noticed that our aim cursors/direction of the mech kept getting "nudged" by an invisible force.

We could be running in a straight line on a nearly flat surface, make a small turn then suddenly the server would turn us slightly in a random direction.

Needless to say this made normal aiming of lasers as well as streak locking very interesting at some points. It was like having a cute kitten on my desk occasionally swatting my mouse when I was trying to line up a shot.

It does not seem to be ping related as I am in Europe and have a 130-150ms ping, while he is in Canada and has a sub 30ms ping.

It seems as though the server is now telling us which way we are actually pointed with much more force than it should, and/or overriding our movement instructions to make us go where it thinks we should be going.

My guess is this is related to the ongoing netcode work." - Tolkien

I am in USA and my ping is usually 80 or below every match, so I am not sure what is suddenly causing this.

I resulted this off as latency Jitter, a delay in packets.

But yes a couple of people i know have this same issue.

it's packet loss

this game handles it really badly for some reason

i've taken to running a ping -t in my other monitor while i play so that i know whats going on when my game starts to act up

a single lost packet can cause my game to freak out for a good 10-15 seconds, relocating me and changing the direction that im facing. its basically best to just stop moving and trying to do things for a while, because its easy to end up shooting a teammate in the back who wasnt there when you pulled the trigger once it starts happening.

i would pay 10k MC for a netgraph or a choke/loss indicator ingame, and some consistent packetloss handling - even if you justt freeze my client for a second (oldschool netsocket icon!), at least i wont do something crazy like alpha a teammate or run off a cliff while my game tries to re-sync
