so, not that im saying this is remotely a good idea (read: this is a horible horrible idea) but... i made this little number.

6x LRM 15. thats 90 LRMs. and its kinda sorta maybe viable. not really. but it'd be funny.

I'd like if they saw this and tried it. its a terrible build. a light would destroy them in no time.

the only thing that 1-ups it is the 5x LRM-20 Stalker. and trust me that's awful too.

I don't want to be a nay sayer, or subscribe to red hat thinking (sorry stealing 5 minutes away at work and I cant get out of the corp speak), but you only have 4 tons of ammo (720 missiles) for 90 lrm volleys. That gets you 8 volleys of missiles. Sure you could wreck stuff if they hit, but that is a massive gamble.

Just to put it to perspective, my AWS-8R has 4xlrm15 and 8 tons of ammo, and by the end of a match I am almost out of missiles.

I think you might want to drop the size of some launchers, or drop one or two to SRMs, and in the tonnage savings, throw some more ammo into that sucker.

I guess you can easily be better than that :D
Anyhow 20t more, beating firepower by 5 LRMs and a TAG, same armor, a little faster, double the ammo: STK-5M Misslebitch oh yes, running cooler also...

lol i know i built one of those also. its still by no means a good idea. you still have the armor of a light mech, on a big target that goes as slow as an atlas.

i'll even raise you 5x LRM-20. 100 missiles, ****! hahah.

Yeah but 5 LRM20 is lame ;) and btw: all mechs so far are close to a half throttle atlas 'fast' :D

for more ammo, drop engine size and swap DHS for standard heatsinks, and drop "a little" armor.

Just out of curiosity whats the maximum amount of lrm's you can field in mwo in a single mech?
Not taking into account engine size (Except the required heatsinks for smaller ones) or armour ect.

Its not the stalker with 5 lrm 20 right? (Answering my own question here ? ;) )

The top and middle and bottom of this section do 35.6 kph with speedtweak -> CPLT-A1 144 firepower 208 armour and BAP with 4 jumpjets 720 ammo

OR
CPLT-A1 144 firpower 192 armour 4 jumpjets 1080 lrm ammo

OR
CPLT-A1 144 firepower 208 armour 46.6 kph with speedtweak 4 jumpjets 900 lrm ammo

That's the one final one i wasted too much time already :L :unsure:


Damit my times a wastin 67.2 with speed tweak 144 firepower no jump jets 208 armour 900 lrm ammo

Actually the 5x LRM20 i believe is the max you can fit. its more to do with WHERE the slots are than how many. the 6x in the A1 but they're all in the ears. so you cant fit a lot of launchers in just the ears. the stalker has enough spread out points to fit 5x 20's for 100 missiles per volley.

case in point, i CANT give this A1 Artemis, because there aren't enough crit slots in the ears for 3 Artemis crits on the launchers.
