I think it was actually the gauss rifle that destroyed my atlas cockpit, IGPGM Phil fired both in the vid as part of weapon group 2.

Idk if devs have ever answered this but... Can you be in a merc corp AND a house?

Sort of. Some of the merc corps are opting to be house aligned. Some examples:

Shieldwall of Rasalhague (Free Rasalhague Republic)
1st Robinson Rangers (Federated Suns)
etc.

But most of the merc corps, including us at the moment, have no house alignment and will be picking and choosing who/where to fight.

Yuh, but what just seems odd is merc corps could possibly disband as well as people could possible want to join a different one later or something. I would hopefully assume you'll have the ability to change your allegiance later.

I can't really see myself personally being fully committed to anything until I see exactly how the system will work and what it will involve. :/

I do remember them saying quite a long time ago that it will be possible to switch, though it will have a cost attached to it.
