Selling Components That Are No Longer Visible

Is there a way to view components that cannot fit into any mechs that you own? My hunches and centurion can't mount a 300 engine, so I have no way of seeing it in the mechlab to sell it.
I know that this issue has been brought up (Search feature ... online. All systems ... nominal.) but it's never been dealt with, and I would really like to recoup the 3 million c-bills from that sale.

Now to sell a component, you need to click on the V next to the quality and select an actual component. The default showing is only a, hmm, label/information piece to PURCHASE, show if and how many pieces there are, the price, slots/weight/type. Again, click on the downward facing arrow then select the actual component, it will then give you an option to sale it.
example
Medium Laser Quality 4 V
type
slots Buy $XXXXX
tons
Now, to sell, click on the arrow and ya get a drop down screen and click on that screen.
Medium Laser
Sell CB $xxxxx

This happened to me with a Cent A. Wanted to put my Cent D big engine in it and thought I lost it too. Suddenly there under my Ilya. Sent a prayer to Mars in thanks.
edit. A way to see all inventory would be nice but I have heard no word.

I know how to sell components. I have been playing MWO since the first round of invites for closed beta. I will post a screenshot for you, since you do not seem to understand the problem here.

Notice how the engine list stops at XL260. I literally cannot view the XL300 engine that I want to sell, in any of my mechs, because of their max engine size restriction. However, I wish to sell the engine so I can finance my next purchase.
I would really appreciate a way to view all components for sale, to prevent something like this from happening to me and others.

But to answer your original question, there currently is not a way to view said unavailable components in order to sell them. It is a good suggestion to implement, whether it is on the same screen with a different color scheme or a separate tab/area. If/when this is implemented, it would likely need to be a separate screen/tab, simply to prevent any confusion or bugs being created in the actual mech lab.

Guess it's an 7mil uphill slog to the next mech then. Ah well, hopefully PGI will address this (admittedly minor) issue in the near future.

On a side note, I find that I usually regret selling an engine (especially an XL). While experimenting with new builds it's nice to have a lot of options available to you. At the same time I understand the lack of funds, and you do get a large chunk of money for them.

Yes I learned that one the hard way too. Sold two to buy mech 4 and then realizing XL's are not that great with my play style on certain mechs. I would love to have that STD 260 back.
I saw somewhere that the more mechs you own will make a difference in the future too. Something about dropship ops or rules/priorities? Never sell anything is my motto now. Maybe some MLas-32 in stock I think. This is about to get epic.

An XL300 is an enormously useful engine that's ubiquitously present in countless builds for countless mechs from 40 tons all the way on up. It's a good engine because it's the minimum jump up needed to get another engine heatsink (saving you crits), and the last stop in engines before you have to accept a huge weight gain to go up, which is why I see it used all the time in Cicada, Catapult and Cataphract builds (especially catapult builds, since the small side torsos mostly eliminate the danger of an XL). Just stepping up from 300 to 305 jumps the engine weight from 15.5 to 17 tons. Ain't nobody got time for dat

In short, even if you sold that engine now for 2.45 million, you'd just be buying it for 4.9 million again later. Just run a dozen or so battles and make the money that way, and you'll still have held onto your nearly 5 million c-bill investment.

That said, do not sell that 300XL you'll regret is later. Engine sized even divisible by 25 are the most valuable as the number of supported heat sinks is floor(engine->rating / 25)

The lab sucks goats hairy horns and the 300XL is a 5 mil. CB beast that you'll want at some point - for certain. Grind out what you need and you'll thank us later!
