It needs to be said that LRMs also used to go through hills, rocks and buildings with near impunity. They would also track after losing lock so breaking visual contact meant taking any hits from any missiles already in the air. They were broken then. In current incarnations that guy with the LRMS might be all like blaat blaat eat a **** ************ but unless you feel like chill'n in the open and taking several peoples high-speed projectile spray all over your body you'll probably escape to behind cover largely unscathed.

What we will see is me and my lovely Purple Trebuchet with an ERPPC, TAG, some SSRM2s and the biggest engine I can cram in the thing.....Objective....TAG, PPC, and run down the lil' buggers if they decide to try and solo take on my entire lance.

People hated the Missile Warrior Online because of a few things.

1. A bug was introduced that drasicly increased the top down attack angle of LRM's.
2. Artemis further enhanced the bugged top down angle to almost vertical.
3. Artemis made every missile try and hit exactly the same spot.

What is on top of most mechs? The head. With those 3 problems you had a weapon that was very user friendly and executed nearly perfect top down attacks against anyone and hit most every mech square in the cockpit.

So they fixed the bug after a week. Then nerfed artemis spread, angle, and damage. All 3 caused a near overnight elimination of LRM from builds. You just did not see any at all period. So they fixed the spread and angle a little and gave it a couple bits of damage.

Currently missiles are just about Ideal. If your being killed by them your not paying attention, and even if you are they can still "Threaten" you and put a little damage out. They are soft countered (For all intents and purposes its a hard counter) by ECM. You can still "Shoot" but they are completely dumbfire and have no clustering or grouping at all. IF the ECM isnt right on your nutz you can use a tag to light up a target but if they drop out of your beam for even a microsecond the lock is lost.

It was a holiday. They probably wont even begin to start work until 8am pacific. You got 7 hours before you could even reasonably say your waiting.

The few times I died from LRM's I can savely say was due to my own idiocy.

I disagree there really.

LRM are balanced for MASS builds, but there is little reason to add the weapon if you aren't lobbing 40 of them.

If I have the choice I will use SRM over LRM nearly every time (of my 39 mechs I have ONE LRM boat) putting one launcher even on an Atlas or Awesome is just a false economy, you don't get a return on your investment weight-wise.

A lot of that is the tiny little maps with over abundant cover.

...and honestly I don't have soultion, but if I'm just trying to work on one long range weapon, its not going to be an LRM launcher, it'll be a PPC or ballistic.

Isn't there a rather simple solution for a problem that doesn't yet exist I might add.

The AS7-D-DC hides and moves from cover to cover when advancing so it doesn't get shot at with PPC. If a fast mech with PPC's comes to shot at it close up the rest of the team shoots back at it. Minimum team work required.

Heh.

There are a bunch of way to tar LRM boats. Most involve heavy ballistics roughly to the grill.

My prediction. . . by Thursday 2/21/13 you'll start seeing games loaded with LRM Boats.

Yeah, my anti-LRM "FU in the face" direct fire mechs can't wait.

I even came up with a couple exceedingly fast PPC boats just so I can "FU-ECM Atlas" as well.

A ) Haha, you noobs keep dying, I am awesome!!
B ) Terrain is OP and needs to be nerfed, I cannot shoot a mech hiding behind a hill/building/etc., please fix ASAP!!

**** I already think Terrain is OP and should be Nerfed, I don't need My lrms to hit more walls to say that. :)

Had my LRM Awesome on a testride on Sunday, killed in direct Combat one D-DC and wasted the second D-DC so much that he only needed a M-Laser hit to die..

To say i was ONE Awesome against TWO ECM D-DC's which had backup in a 1 vs 2 Situation

LRM Hell is already here. Or lets say that lot of D-DC drivers are thinking they have the Uber Mech and
won't die because of it.

(4x ARLRM 15 Burst damage of 540 in 17 Secs and no shutdown, thats Awesome)
