your first 25 matches are "bonus cbill" matches, called a cadet bonus. It totals to something around 8m cbills, put in to help you get your first mech (and get off the trial mechs which run "stock", just like if you bought them, and are inferior loadouts and poorly armored).
After your first 25 matches, the cadet bonus is gone. The payouts are then "normal", and much lower than with the cadet payout. 70k isn't all that bad as I've had "wins" that only paid out 40k.. it just depends on what _you_ do in the match. More damage is more cbills, more resources in conquest is more cbills, more salvage (more components left on the field.. such as legging an otherwise healthy mech leaves the engine and arms/weapons, etc etc) is more cbills. Kills grant money and exp, spotting for other players (like their LRMs) gives money, assisting kills gives money (doing significant damage, or maybe just at least some damage).. so the more you do in a match, the more money you make.
Getting in there and doing damage to most of the enemy's team, holding locks so LRM boats can fire, good aim to core opponents instead of shredding the entire mech.. those add up and you can get 110k a match on a regular basis. I've had matches with 130k when I live long enough to do 500+ damage in the match.
Oh, and if you're running premium time, you get a 50% increase in cbills and xp.

On a good day I'll get 220k for a match. That's including the lion's share of the kills, assists, damage done, and a win. And with a big fat Premium time multiplier. Most of the time I'll be in the mid 100's range.

70,000 is pretty normal for a win, I think.
With no premium time my best wins are around 120,000 without premium time.
300,000 for a win gets talked about a lot because it almost never happens.

I've been netting around 180k-190k the last week or so while grinding through my jenners. When I run more brawling or sniping mechs I'll around around 210k-220k.
Granted this is with Premium Time on my account. I think the best I've done so far is 310k in a match. The worst is around 50k (quick capture win)

non premium, non hero/founders i can make 80-100k on average
c-bills seem like they are very important...but the key is really just to find a mech that you have fun playing...i have like 15 or so mechs...but i keep going back to my hunchback sp...just cuz its so fun...after a night of playing and having fun i noticed i made a couple million...otherwise u get in the mindset of "grinding"
i will admit though i prolly spent 8 mil decking out that hunchback...but most of the grind when u start is more about finding weapon groupings that work and figuring out the timing of your movements...thats why i never understood the afk farmers...sure they ended up w/ c-bills...but have no experience actually playing and end up getting their ***** handed to them

As a non-premium player this was my best payment so far. I find it kinda ridiculous that for 6 kills i got paid only twice as much as for 2 kill assist. - encouraging team play?

Even after recent tweaks the system seems to highly prioritize brute force with high damage dealt. In assault mech i usually get around 120-130k on a good run while in light i barely reach 100k.

147k is an excellent match payout- with premium that would be 220k, I very rarely get that much with my premium time, usually more in 180-200 range.

But, all those other people that got assists on your 6 kills.. every other of those 7 people on your team could have gotten 6 assists worth of perk, that _does_ encourage them to get in there and hit stuff. And, it's probably more luck than anything that you got the killing blow on 6 mechs, since odds are you weren't picking a fresh mech and drilling it down to death each time. Plus, the lower payout for kills means you won't have so many people sitting back and waiting for easy pickings, which actually hurts the team when people do that.
As to lights, I have lots of rounds where I'm top damage on my team in my Raven 3L, some in my Commando 2D, and even in the Raven 2X with 4 MLs on it. The trick to high damage rounds in lights is to stay alive, stay moving, and -constantly- be dropping damage on every mech you pass. I have quite a few 7 assist rounds with 450+ damage from my lights. Now that's helping the team, and I got rewarded for it (110k+ quite a few times).

Quite literaly the only way to obtain 300K is to be running premium time, a hero mech, and do 1000+ damage and get all 8 kills, an obsurde amount of compnent descructions (i think atleast 2 per mech not including the CT/ST when you kill it).
Yeah... its not very common, ive only gotten it once and that was along time ago.
