Titan, a moon of saturn, is a firmly established base in the sol system. Best known for its abundant methane lakes, it is now a point of tension in the battletech universe. Bases for extracting the methane from titans lakes are now fought over and contested by numerous factions.
The low gravity and extreme cold make it an interesting field of combat. Titans solid surface is mostly ice, and is a glistening orange. Mechwarriors must take caution to the exotic features of Titans surface.

Good idea, but imposible because Sol System is in the hands of CommStar.
Maybe in other moons like Titan but no in Titan

Who would risk the wrath of ComStar over a bit of methane? The merc unit I run with produces all the methane we ever need (and then some), especially if we had Taco Bell before the mission.

Make it a Moon around HeroTitus called Titan then. It is in the Periphery, just a mere 15LY jump from the outer edge of Cappelan space. Not all that far from the border planets of New Roland, Repulse, Renown and Ward.

A moon map would be pretty cool. So far the maps that exist look good but don't really inspire the more futuristic aspects of the battletech universe. A moon map with maybe moon bases or something would be most excellent.

There couldn't be stars and huge planets on the horizon tho...that would be too cool.

Problem is at this time no factions are fighting inside the Sol System.. ComStar owns it lock stock and Barrel...

I like the idea of a similar moon alternative. So how do you think a map like this would be layed out?
