For those of you that may be curious but not ready to commit I would be happy to team with anyone. I understand the many reasons people PUG (I did it for months and months) but I will never understand why some wear it like a badge of honor. Playing with a team (even a casual one) is so much more rewarding.

Both ways of playing aren't a big deal. It's just a game.

In my case I just don't like playing with a team. I don't know how many others feel the same. I see and deal with so many people on a day to day basis that I just want to come home and play alone in my giant stompy robot. I know I am on a team but I am still more alone then if I were to join a pre-made team and or be on ts etc. I deal more damage then I take and generally help my team out. But i can do what I want and I don't have to answer for my actions. In other words I am alone and can blow off steam from a hard days work without having to be social.

Night: I respect your reasons and would NEVER question them. Sometimes I still play like that or because I want to test some wacky build and don't want to subject the gang to it.

As an aside we have a very "ad hoc" element to the BWC that compliments your style. If you are ever curious drop me a PM :(

Because you couldn't send him a private message, right?

Did you even read his post? The one that ends with:

I'm looking forward to ELO and PRIVATE (which was confirmed by Paul in NGNG podcast) match making.

For the longest time I played in 4 man Team Speak groups. In these games we rolled over our opponents with ease unless we were up against another 4 man (which was rare). I tried a few 8 man games on Team Speak but these are virtually impossible to win as most of the 8 man opponents are house/merc units that have lance commanders and lots of experience practicing.

At this point the games I enjoy most are when we Team Speak sync drop on Marik Madness Nights. These are "chaos" drops where each player is not in a group, we all drop at the same time, and we move to separate TS channels. I also enjoy PUG games where there are no premades in them.

Hopefully things will be better with ELO next week.

PUGging is much harder than stomping randoms with your premade, that's probably why the 'badge of honor', you know, because when you have a ****** team and still do well you had to work harder than some 8 man sync douchebags.

The other part is your opinion (unless you meant xp/cbills in which case you're probably right). I hope that changes on Tuesday.

THATs excactly how i feel.
IMo the game itself pisxxxx me really off, because in 9 of 10 games i end up gaming against an skilled and organized enemy Team.
As iam new to this game, how should i get better when it rains LRM but i cant lock on an enemy because they use ECM ?

Thats just a great dissapointment... :)

So as new players like me are getting frustrated by the Gameplay in PUG, why should they stay with the game?

Honestly, join TS now and then and get in a 4 man, it's the best way to go. There is zero need for a mic, you can be passive and listen only. I can't stress this enough, it's a COMPLETELY different game with VoiP and is worth doing a few times at the very least.

PGI REALLY needs to make 4 man Lances easy to get into and have seamless communication, along with skill based match making that would just KILL for everyone (skill levels will get pushed up faster as people move up the ranks into harder brackets).

I PUG almost exclusively. Rolling pugs on Comstar got boring fast. Learning how to win at PUG'ing has made me an even better team player because I trained myself from that perspective.

There is a negative to PUG'ing that I don't like. That of being chided by the opposing force when I was dropped with total newbs. Makes me look bad.

I go for the 4th option, I love group pug with Comstar NA.

It is full of random pugs, getting together into 4mans via TS. Its a blast.

While I realize that there are no current plans to have a solo queue, I hope this is reconsidered.

At the very least, please add a "trial-only" queue with 6-8 variants available, or add players to unlock pilot skills on trial 'mechs, or something to prevent new players from being abused by players with 1000 drops in the same chassis variant.

Edit: I mean same chassis variant, but Endo/DHS/XL300/FF/mastered/mechlabbed/otherwise optimized and superior 'mech of the same designation.

I choose the hard road mr mallon for a number of reasons...

-it makes me better than those who piggy back of the skill of others
-stats mean nothing to me
-when it comes time, i want ta be an apex predator in your war of clans
-i do not enjoy conversing with strangers whom talk about uninteresting things, simply for the sake of increasing my win chance

but more than anything....

-it is in my nature

Just as much as it is in yours to take the "easier" road

and...

it's working.

I will give that a try and i am expecting some positive Effects on the Matchmaking system with the
upcoming patch next week.

As iam playin this game now for just one week, i think the mechlab Prog pushed me a step forward
because now i can check my equipment for zero costs.

Yesterday i had 3 of the best games by now, as the games end up 1 by 1 and the Teamskills were
almost at the same level.
THAT was just a pleasure ! Loved it !
