The 2 "soft counters" to ECM (increased sensor range, decreased lock-on decay time) are both modules. These are going to cost what... 15,000gxp and 2-6mil c-bills each?

A little pricey to counter a 400,000 c-bill piece of equipment...

Obviously paying 2-6 mil, for a 70m buff is a steal! Most of the proceeds are going towards the inconveniencing of the ECM master race.

If you cup your hand to your ear and listen for a few minutes you can just about hear your feedback hitting the bottom of Apparently Noone at PGI Gives A **** Canyon. :(

I have the modules. They do not counter ecm. At all.

So let me get this straight:

1) Give a few mechs the ability to mount a potent piece of hardware.
2) People buy lots of mechs. CHA-CHING!
3) Users scream
4) Tiny nerfs announced
5) Users scream
6) Very expensive nerfs are announced
7) People buy lots of nerfs. CHA-CHING!
8) Either:
8a) Nerfs work, people discard ECM mechs and buy something else. CHA-CHING!
8b) Nerfs don't work, go to #6. CHA-CHING!

(implied #9: Create new imbalance, start all over again.)

Gotta love F2P! Monetize a potent system, then monetize its counter. It's REALLY hard not to be cynical about this kind of stuff. I'm hedging: I'm not going to buy a $20 Atlas DDC. I'm going to wait for the next manufactured imbalance, and jump on the train if it's cheaper this time.

I don't recall that they were supposed to counter ecm, just be more module additions to add some flavor as the ecm craze started to wear down.

The ECM 'craze' will wear down right about when people get tired of winning.

Seriously, they need to buff AMS to work against ssrm/srm.

I mean seriously, whiskey tango foxtrot, ams is supposed to be the hardcounter to lrms and srms, not ecm.

If a mech that comes with ECM costs less than a module that counters said mech, which do you think people will buy,

I dont remember paying $$$ for either system. Unless you mean time or something, this is a leasure activity after all.

no its really only there as a light counter to lrms. it weighs 0.5 tons vs 10 tons for a lrm20, and can be stacked with AMS on all your team mates. Heck if you get a bunch of mechs with dual ams together it *will* stop ssrms and srms.
