I've told people they suck. It made me feel good, too, but only because they sucked really bad.

I was in a pug, and the first thing someone says is "Just once I would like to drop with a group that doesn't all suck. Please, guys, try to at least score 100 damage each before you do something stupid and die."

To which I replied "Just once I would like to drop with a group that doesn't QQ. Please, guys, try not cry like babies when you get killed by people who are clearly better then you".

"Wow, you sre a ****. I bet you die without scoring any kills."

At that point I positioned my cataphract directly in front of his mech - incidentally the exact same variant as I was piloting. I stood motionless in front of him at a range of 20 meters, with my crosshair over his cockpit, and my finger over the trigger.

"What did you say?", I typed. Before he could reply, I fired.

"OMG WTF ARE YOU DOING?!", he asked. I thought both my actions and intent were clearly obvious, but apparently he did not, so I answered his question.

"Look who just died without scoring a kill."

"Now I have to deal with my own group stabbing me in the back?"

"I didn't stab you in the back, I shot you in the face. If you didn't suck so hard you would still be alive. Stick around though, you might learn a thing or two..."

You're a douchebag, I ever see you in game I will destroy you If I remember your name.

I have called people "bads" before but it is simply out of frustration. When you finish a game and half of your team couldn't break 100 let alone several doing sub 50, it is hard not to get upset. I guess that is just the PUG mentality when they see it as a 1st person shooter that just happens to have teammates rather than a team based game that happens to be a 1st person shooter. And it isn't like you can take the time to talk to them about their builds, strategies, etc because the game starts and finishes within 5 minutes.

Thing is, though, if you're going to call someone out for being bad, you'd better be willing to fess up when you drop the ball. I always apologize when I get gibbed cause I made an awful piloting error.

Played a round earlier and I was last standing one of the last standing on my team. I'd been doing my job of peppering the enemy because I drive a support class mech. I admit I am working on my aim. I followed the group raining missiles on their targets and saw a cat like myself with out many lasers. I engaged a one on one with him. Players on my team began to tell me how bad I was. I did kill him just took a bit longer.

I so the question is why can't we give positive support when peopleddon't play the best. Keep in mind I did come in second on the score board and I wasn't hiding

Sounds like you did a good job to me.
You were putting bullets into the enemy, that gets a thumbs up from me any day of the week.

I don't call people "bads" or horrible players (now horrible person that's another story), but I am willing to apologize to my lance if I overextended myself.

I always find it amusing when DEAD players fail to see the irony of calling another player "bad."

I know there will be trolls but it would be nice if we could encourage people with lower skills . helping people get better will all give us better matches.

I will take from this that I can always improve and I will use the negative to improve.
BTW I have 4 med lasers and lrm 15s with artemis. I've played with tag but I'm not into it.
BTW typing on a tablet sucks

Sometimes it is just painful to watch someone miss over and over when 1 shot placed in the chest would win the match.

I just figure the person who is flinging insults is has all that time to type 'cause they are already dead.

So people who say others are bad are even worse than the person who is saying they are bad, but you just called them bad, so you are worse than the bad people who calls others bad?

Did I get that right? :P

I hope no one calls you bad because we'll get stuck in an infinite loop of baditude and that could mean the end...of mechwarrior online

P.S. Where's my Garth Bobblehead?

Hammer stop being an a** hat. They are referring to the people in game who die (Normally first) and start raging at other people. It happens that I agree with them on that point, and from looking at the posts so do the majority. If your not part of the solution that means you are the problem.

Everyone gets mad, and some people can't handle their anger are are dcikbags. Ignore these people.

Sometimes when you're last man standing and outnumbered, there's simply nothing you can do. Take criticism with a grain of salt.

Yeah, it's fairly useless to call people bad in game. You have no idea what's going on, even if you were spectating.

Maybe they're great players normally, but (this has happened to me) their daughter keeps grabbing their mouse arm. I felt sorry for the poor saps spectating me. Or, maybe they ARE bad, because they are brand new. You can't fault someone for being bad at things when they are new, this game has pretty steep learning curve, and you have no idea how many matches someone has been in.

And beyond that... Just shut up. So what if someone is legitimately bad at the game, despite zounds of matches. Some people are. What is gained by saying things like that? I'm sure they're aware of the situation, but they're having fun anyways. It's a free game, so their badness isn't costing you anything other than a slightly weaker PUG team - and there's a greater likelyhood that "The Bad" will be on the opposing team than on yours.

Insulting people won't make them better. It's certainly not like they are just choosing to be bad at the game - and if they ARE choosing to be bad (see: Troll builds like the TAG/NARC Stalker, all-flamer mechs, etc) insulting them is just egging them on.

Now I understand that you are slow so if you really need help I'll try and explain the joke...very slowly.

If the player dies first without anyone else engaging.. than he is by default, not the best player.

Good player = survives and does most damage in the most critical area of the match.

Sounds like the words of someone who will break the line to go chase squirrels and then talk trash to the guy that got overrun trying to hold the line because they were outnumbered, and will certainly never take point.

I don't ridicule others, I'm far from perfect and sometimes through no fault of my own I appear to suck anyway (sometimes it is my fault!). Sometimes I look awesome too, I tend to stay quiet then as well...because I'm not sure I know why.... :)

Occasionally I might throw a tip out there, like mentioning lrms don't work within that range so don't fire them and cause heat/lose ammo. Or the other day I told a player he should zoom back out when he was brawling with a stalker on x2 magnification within 100 meters. It's up to them if they want to listen or not, I won't presume they have to.

I have been on the receiving end of team chat "love" from dead spectators, it's not helpful. It's the worst kind of back seat driving.

Alot of times its loser rage, but sometimes bad players just hide in the back and are the last alive without doing any damage... not saying its a good excuse for getting dead, but sometimes there really are just terrible players you have to spectate (or disconnect) and they have a habit of getting pissed when you point out stuff like min and effective ranges... or weapon groupings...

dieing first doesn't tell you that you suck. The score board tells you that.

I have told 470 or more matches worth of bad players they are bad.

Every single day I spend on these forums I feel more and more certain that this is some kind of Macabre punishment. I don't know what I did to be given this glued together ball of assets that PGI called a game.

On this game I may as well be called the greatest pub boss, but it brings nothing but the honor and prestige of some kind of F*cking man child kindergarten teacher.

To think, golds love to call this the state of the art mechwarrior game, but if I remember correctly it was all about the TT being made viable in game. It was like the next generation Battletech, as soon as we got all the fun beta testing **** out of the way we'd start playing. All the founders, golds and communities wanted to buy into the game hard as hell despite not knowing jack **** about it and still don't.

So they got together the communities and the founders to test this new cobbled together mechwarrior game despite.....

The incompetent golds

The homicidal support mechs

Useless Spiders,

******** ******* Catapults,

The crotchety ******* IBM piece of **** we're supposed to call a C3 and its laundry list of UI bugs.

But the community continues to go about its business, constantly testing, inspecting and perfecting their terrible builds.

And if something does go wrong its hardly a problem, our advanced spindoctor and forumwarriors will sure up morale of the average fool with buzzwords like " its beta ".

I don't know why I'm even writing this, I sure as hell don't need it for myself. Sure I could upload another video of how broken things are or dump a bunch of numbers I've been crunching, but who would give a **** about it but PGI suddenly making my account disappear?

I suppose I could simply upload it to youtube and let people make their own judgements. I do not care what the forumwarriors say about me on the forums, I'm not an old MW4 ***, I am a man of principles and standards.

And if terrible developers and forumwarriors get in the way of it, so be it.

If you run across this post and like it by chance, Get your pudgy little *** over to KONG and start busting heads.

It seems the majority of the time that people complain about the way I am playing is when I end up doing the most damage in the group and get a few kills, and they did less then 100 damage.

Or the person that complains about loosing the last 10 matches and they end up doing less then 100 damage, has anyone every though that the reason your teams are always loosing is because you need to improve your aim. I just play pugs and I do loose more game then I win, but I never go 10 straight loses in a row.
