I hope you all lay into me, but I really think that a berserk-er rage fury mech would rock the Catskills.. you know? Aside from the fact that I'm still really new to the game, and that I'm at best a lowly freeborn that hides behind the Atlas or Stalker during the match (I also cry tears of joy when I get a kill) and hope that one day I can be that guy driving it. Yeah, well, I am working on being a super duper awesome pilot of well, any mech really.
Not to digress though, berserk-er mech, I've tried LBX10 phracts and cats, they treat my poor playing style well, but I really want to get into an assault. The bad thing is that the Atlas is the only assault with a (1 or 2) ballistic hp, and I think "should I really get an Atlas and lead folks into a horrible end like the rest of the Atlas drivers do to me?" I end up telling myself do it, but then my conscience stops me. prolly a good thing. Then I get all grumpy and go back to looking at the CTF-4X. Who wouldn't want to be running around with 4 shotguns and a bright pink/red/orange painted robosuit? Not me.. that means I sooooo would. It'd be like finally meeting Charlie the Unicorn, then have him ram all those mean kids at the local gas station with his razor sharp uni-horn. Once I can get this thing running, look out.. Unless this is a terrible idea.

I... didn't really understand that. What I THINK you said is:
"I'd really like a mech that could carry a bunch of Autocannons, what do you guys think?"
To which I respond "Hells yes, I'm saving up for a CTF-4X right now so I can do that 2x AC/2 2x UAC/5 build I've been seeing."

Not sure, but you cant put 4 lb10s on it, not nearly enough crit slots... the Ilya can fit 3 though if you want to spend the money.

The OP is clearly insane, so I have to support whatever it is he is saying
Yes there are currently no heavy ballistic assaults at the moment but, any of the atlases can mount an AC20 or 2 UAC5s, which is a lot of power and have a lot more backup firepower from SRMs and lasers than the assaults can.
The 4x with 2xUAC5 2xAC2 is good, but it grows old quick, its VERY vulverable to fast enemy mechs, has a chunk less armour than an assault and is slower than some.
Awesomes are kinda the red-headed step child of assaults but I've seen a few nice builds (4xSRM6 + Lots of lasers) but not really ballistic mechs.
BTW, the LBX-10 sucks, don't use it

He's talking about mechs that use UAC to brawl.
Unfortunately PGI hates ballistics which is why we're getting a banshee and not a mauler.

Well, I can't stand folks who dislike ballistics. Such things as ammo conservation make games way better, so I think anyway, and though it may be a pain to do the physics it's good practice with math for taxes and stuff.

P.S. Being new and such, the lbx doesn't need super fine motor skills or patience. I still lack both, so a sucky weapon hitting is better than an awesome weapon missing.
