I tried the PPC now in various mechs and came to the conclusion, that is broken...
Even with minimum / maximum range in mind and only shooting mechs which are approaching or withdrawing from me ( so i don't count shots, which actually don't hit because of lag, but seem to hit ) i still do way less damage then i do with most other weapons.

I mostly do double the damage with a Cicada with 4 med pulse lasers than i do with a Catapult with 2 PPCs and other weapons.

In Battletech it was one of the most terrific weapons you could have, but right now it seems pretty useless.

I suggest to increase the damage of this weapon and maybe also increase the cooldown/ slow down the projectile speed, if it is needed for balancing purposes. ( I don't think, this has to be balanced. )

Quad PPC stalker works great though. the poptart (phract 3D with gauss, ppc, erppc) works well too.

maybe try the K2 like this, should snipe decently

(ER)PPCs are incredibly viable at the moment. (and they never were that bad IMO)
Standard PPCs are somewhat tricky to use though, because the min range means you need to stay in that "sweet spot" range to reach their full potential.

Thanks for this great builds.

However, i'm not taking about having no good build for a ppc-mech.
I'm saying that PPC doesn't do as much damage as it should do.

Man you cant use it....
I drive AWS-M9 with 3 ppc and fire it with no overheating fast and deadly and also have 6ppc stalker. That kill anything with 2-3 good alpha strike.
Stalker deal 60dmg at good range(2 shot before it overheat 120dmg in 3sec),and its so fkng OP! This build can cut atlas arm can 1-2 hit kill any light,2 hit in center torso kill CAT and CTF etc. So now after 2 weeks of testing i think next buff of ppc (that comes at 19 feb) make it best sniper weapon ever for peaople who can use it.
PPC grat now and its become IMBA after next patch.

They do 10 damage, exactly as much as they do in TT, like most weapons.

PPC really is _FINE_ with capital letters. And not "ppc is fine" as "lpl/LBX/AC-5 is fine", but PPC is in the same league as the AC-20, Gauss, MPL, Large Laser and other very good weapons.

UAC/ML/SRM is generally better, but those are the exception, not the norm.

Innersphear ERPPC and PPC are suppose to be the same dmg as 2 med lasers, The bonus is the range. and using 4 med pulse will do more dmg than 2 PPC you just have to sacrifice the range, This is how it suppose to be. The only dif in Novels is PPC being able to possibly melt joints together.
