Since GPU on my gaming laptop decided to give up and go for eternal rest in electronic hell I am in dire need to get a new machine. This time I thought about desktop rig. Because MW:O is going to be one of my main games I decided to come and ask you people for a little advice on a setup I have prepared myself:
Motherboard - ASRock Z77 EXTREME6
CPU - Intel Core i5 3570K 3,4GHz
CPU cooling - SilentiumPC Spartan PRO HE924
RAM - Patriot Viper 3 4x4GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9
GPU - Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660Ti 3GB
HDD - Seagate 1TB 64MB SATA III
Case - Thermaltake V3 BlacX Edition
Power supply - OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W

This setup is still WIP. I am on somewhat tight budget so if anything here can be cut down or improved without much increase in price that would be helpful (I am not paying in USD but at the current exchange rate the limit would be around 1280USD).
Also it would be nice if the rig could serve for a longer time without any major improvements (eg. adding another 660ti in SLI is not major change).

Looks good to me! Should run most games, including MWO, nicely.

Only thing that might bug me is the CPU-cooler, as I haven't heard if yet. I can not find a value on how much excess heat it can disperse on the manufacturers homepage, so I would not consider overclocking with it.

If you want to cut down on the price you could do with only 8 GB of RAM.

Alright, well first off cut down to 8GB of RAM in dual channel, get a better case for the price (unless you just love the aesthetics of the case THAT MUCH to sacrifice cooling, quality, and noise), and for the love of the gods get a better power supply.
If you have the money to, I would invest in a better GPU, namely a Radeon hD 7950/7970/Geforce GTX 670. Otherwise, I would drop down to a Radeon HD 7870 (Non-ghz Talahi LE version) which is slightly faster than that 660ti for $30 less.

If you're overclocking, you'll want to invest at least about $50 in an aftermarket heatsink and some decent thermal compound.
Otherwise, drop down the CPU to an i5-3550p and the motherboard to a Pro4. (which, interestingly, comes with free RAM on it's current sale)



Of course, this is what you're looking at in USD, and you'll have to look out for sales and pricing over in Poland. (I do not sadly have time to go look at the moment, perhaps later today I'll check some more local e-tailors) However you can do better for your price. I recommend looking over some of my guides on this site to get an idea what you're looking at.

I was thinking of switching to GTX670 earlier, however the price increase is still keeping me at bay. Maybe I'll cut down to 8GB RAM as you say and then change GPU. The case was somewhat of a random choice so I definitely will change it. Same with the power supply

EXACTLY WHAT IS WRONG WITH OCZ PSU?

[I have no idea how the quality of their low end is, I run a gold rated OCZ 1250 watt, so I'm just curious to see what your reasoning is here]

The only thing I would suggest is an upgrade to your power supply. At least 800w if not better.

The rest of the build should play this game fine. I would recommend however, that you upgrade the video card and the processor. Though if your not worried about future titles then perhaps you don't need to. It really just depends on how much gaming you do.

Upgrade the processor? to what? an I7 for a negligible difference and significant increase in cost.

I'd get a cheaper board, like an extreme 4, a better quality powersupply (xfx pro 550 or something, or get something 80+ gold or platinum, they're all good quality, apparantly it's hard to make dodgy stuff efficient.), otherwise it seems fine.

OCZ has a track record of poor quality control, poor customer service, and outside of their high-end/PCpower&Cooling line (which use Seasonic internals) their other products are spotty and in many cases have poor voltage regulation, combined with problematic thermals.
Even some of their products they consider "higher end" manage to receive the following in reviews; (non-seasonic internal)

Though some of their units are good, it's in many cases likely a better idea just to go with another brand.

And of concern to the op, here is on the 700w version of the modXtreme;
