I play my Centurions a lot and decided to go with the Awesome Chassis for my Assualt.

I plan to elite the Awesome, so make judgements based on elite efficiencies. My goals in making these is
1. To have decent speed
2. No XL engines
3. to be able to engage at range, then deal extra damage when I close in

Please rate these builds and offer critiques. Also which Awesome Chassis should I buy first?

8Q

Having trouble deciding between this 8V

And this 8R

Finally a 9M build

I tried to keep my left arm and torsos clear of weapons so as to use it as a shield. I play my Centurion 9A a lot and I am pretty good at using my left arm as a shield to keep my SRM launchers safe.

I'd go for that 8R first.

Was running the 9M with a mix of mediums and Large pulse lasers, works resonably well since they have the same cycle time, doesnt do long range though.

best thing about the build is you dont lose that much firepower when an arm and sidetorso are blown off.

I like the builds you have for everything but 9M, I would like to avoid XL engines. Also I've tried artemis and I've never been impressed with the results, so I like the build I made for the 8R with more heat sinks to increase my laser spam.

That's a pretty interesting build, since I was planning to grab a 325 engine anyway I would be able to test that build with minimal cost.

since you like large lasers i would grab the 8q.
to read about 8t you could read the ongoing topic about it; it might be a decent laser boat

also, why u no artemis??

on 8r

well i guess it does give you extra weight for the heatsinks

As someone who ran an 8R for a long time (currently my only Mech):
- Expect to get hit in the CT a LOT. Your 9M and 8V do not have the same CT armor as the other 2.
- You should aim for about 36% cooling I believe. I had it and only rarely did I overheat, usually on Caustic Valley.
- I never used Endo Steel. Didn't need to and saw no point, more room for other stuff.
- Your 8R is roughly similar to mine.
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...6acf0eed8ad3a35
I ran it as a fast raider and sometimes sniper with the LLs.
- used to run Pulses but my preference is I did not like them. If they work for you, OK.
- When you drop, usually expect an Atlas sometimes Stalker as the opposing drop. Rarely can you fight them head on and should always have 1+ others with you.

For reference, here are some others I thought about but have not made yet, I aimed for that 36% cooling I mentioned.

8Q: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...496170a43a0265e
8V: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...ad1d66f27e21011
8T: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...327a23d7b9f5de0
The Streaks were to deal with lights and give more room for LLs. Other builds I did used LRMs.

I would definitely up the cooling of your 8Q but you need to dump the Endo Steel for that. If you cannot, then I would avoid it, you only need 3 variants to unlock up to Master.
The other three look fine, I would even say the 9M has too much cooling.

EDIT: Forgot, here is an 8T I did with SRM6:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...3a07bc823b59d5d

Did an 8V similar but seemed too much like the 8R.
