Otherwise, you WILL get messages that your ammo is destroyed.... but it shouldn't do any damage to you.
Also check if you had AMS ammo stored there. A lot of people forget that it can explode, and badly.

Its not pretty, and those are TINY ones. A Gauss Rifle has huge caps.

To expand, CASE will prevent the ammo or gauss rifle explosion from spilling over into adjacent sections. However, if the guass is in the same section as an XL engine, CASE is pointless.

For that matter, even if you could make a capacitor-less laser, why would you? Sure, a one-second duration beam cuts a nice, long line, but I'd rather through-and-through an Atlas in a millisecond. After all, one itty-bitty hole in the fusion bottle and the whole thing goes bye-bye.
