MWO does favor SRMs over LRMs right now.

The 7K has some promise based on the adjustment to the PPC and its effect on ECM. I'd be tempted to try removing the SRM 2 and the AC 5, and put on an LRM-10 with Artemis, and jack up the engine as fast as it can go.

Plunk something with the PPC, follow-up with an LRM barrage, run away, rinse and repeat.

I would have to start liking MWO's LRMs, but I might try that with the Trebuchet. Centurion does SRMs fine.

If jump jets = yes, then purchase = yes

7M looks like its gonna pricey off the gitgo, but to have what is essentially a flying 4SP will be superfun

The 5J is a watered down version of the 7M, with less hardpoints.
The 5N has the same issue, and no jump jets to boot.

This leaves the 7M, 3C, and 7K as possible options.
  • The 7M brings a lot to the table; speed, 6 actual hardpoints, and arm mounted weaponry. I imagine we will see a lot of 3x Md + 3x SSRM2.
  • The 3C is like a high speed HBK-4SP, however any but the most diehard speed-freaks may be turned off by the asymmetrical hardpoint layout, which could make targeting more difficult, especially if using dumbfire weapons.
  • The 7K looks sketchy. It only has 3 hardpoints, which means it must carry heavy weapons to be effective, this will negatively impact its ability to carry a large engine. It seems that whatever role this mech attempts it will be overshadowed by a Cicada, Hunchback, or Centurion. This is an instance where model design and hitbox location could make or break this mech.

Looking at the specs, the 5N and the 7K have better torso twist, hmmmm.

Also for Agent 0 Fortune:

- Hardpoints:
- Left Arm: 2 Energy
- Right Torso: 1 Missile, 1 AMS
- Right Arm: 3 Energy

the 5N.

- Hardpoints:
- Left Torso: 2 Ballistic
- Right Torso: 2 Energy, 1 AMS
- Right Arm: 2 Missile

The 5J is not actually as bad as predicted. 5 lasers on the arms plus jumpjets is not too bad.
Will be buying the 7M, 5J and 3C as soon as the patch comes up (Assuming all 3 do not come to more than the 70 million I have saved up, that is)

Kinda gutted about the twist amounts though - a total of 105 degrees for torso and arm twist is a bit of a joke.

I WAS planning to buy this mech, and was looking forwards to it, but now, I'm not.
We now know the hardpoints:
7M: 3E 3M (Narc)
3C: 4E 2M
5J: 5E 1M
5N: 4E 2M
7K: 2B 2E 2M

I was ASSUMING (how naive of me) that as a dedicated missle boat, there would be MAYBE one variant with 3 usable missle hardpoints.

The 3C or 5N variants are pointless if you have a Hunch 4SP or Cent AL. Strictly worse.
The 7K is the same as the Cent D.
The 5J is strictly worse than the Hunch 4J, with same lasers and one less missile. It's even got a right-side heavy loadout, just like the hunch.
And the 7M is the worst of the lot. Strictly worse. It's effectively got 3E 2M, because a Narc port on it's own location is WORTHLESS. Narc is worthless, and a missile slot with only 1 missile port is worthless for anything else.

Worse of all, every Treb variant has 15 degree arm movement. Terrible.
They do get bigger engines and JJs, but honestly JJs are not that great as currently implemented, and the only way you're going to fit that engine is to go light on the guns, because this mechs torso profile makes an XL engine dangerous and probably not worth it. They obviously want you to put LRMs on this thing, but LRMs are so heavy you won't have the weight for the big engine anyway.

And no, I don't intend to splat. Splatting does only two things: Trolls the guy you shoot and proves how lazy you are. :3

NARC is not mandatory, it is a floating Missile slot.

One of your SRM4s will be dribbling out of the NARC port one missle at a time. Useless.

The 3SSRM variant is a possibility. Maybe with a PPC and the new sensor module (totally buying that. First useful module for me to spend some of my 30k GXP on), you can kill some ECM mechs. Still bad if they get close.

They obviously want you to use this mech as a LRM boat with a fast engine, and that MIGHT end up being a good use for it. But not until the maps are more than 2 long range maps out of 8 total. Once we have Caustic Alpine and Desert plus night versions, the longrange/shortrange will be 6/6, and this mech MIGHT be KINDA useful MAYBE. As it is currently, every time I see a medium or light mounting LRMs, they never work out well.

I've been looking forward to this mech for a while, but now I'm just dissapointed. I was hoping for a 3E 3M, but that f*cking Narc port ruined it. Nothing I want to do with this mech that my 4SP doesnt already do, now.
