TBT-7K. 1x PPC, 1x AC-5, 1x SRM-2..................................................................(1E 1B 1M)

Just a simple poll. Feel free to talk about what you will be using your Trebuchet for. I will be either buying the TBT-7M or TBT-3C. I will be using mine as an LRM support since I do not have one in my mechbay yet. I will drop in TAG, Artemis, and a fast engine if it does not already have one. Lights might be a problem but I will stay within a close distance to my team. Might also try and make one into a capable sniper build too.

Wheres the close range fire support variant of the Trebuchet, as they will no doubt include that (possibly being a 4 missile slot variant). And have these just been taken from sarna, as PGI has not yet posted any viable info on what models they will be releasing?

I'll take the 3C for speed, the 5J for jumpjets, and the 5N for firepower. Is everyone aware that the 7M has a narc tube? Unless you're planning to load it with streaks, you'd be better off going with a 5J and taking the extra energy hardpoint. I'm guessing that we're going to have many dissapointed players who rushed to get a 7M only to find that one of those SRM 6s is useless.

The variants and hardpoints were taken from this thread.

The 5J only has one missle hardpoint I think.

It will be great to finally have a medium mech with JJ's and an assault with JJ's with Highlander, just for jump options in every weight class. That looks to be the most significant contribution of this mech. As an LRM support mech, I don't really see any advantage over a similar armed catapult C1 or C4. However, as a fast jumping brawler with lasers and 2x SRM6's it definitely has potential and a unique place on the field IF it can demonstrate that it has far better speed and maneuverablilty that a cat A1, C1, or C4 (and that's a big if, since cats are agile heavies). Maybe a new sneak and assassin mech.

I don't know, I usually don't make a choice until I'm in the mech bay looking at the mech there.

Overall though the loadout options are less interesting than centurions except Wang. I think it would be a boring mech if not for a jumping medium class.

Well it will be pretty fast I'm sure. No doubt it will maneuvre much better too. We will just have to wait and see I suppose.

Fast, Artemis, Tag, JJs, and two LRM15 racks? I find it hard to beilive that it will be boring. Guess it depends on what your play style is.

The 5J only has one missle harpoint I think.

I was going based on the hardpoints in the java mechbay program. I assume that they got those hardpoints from somewhere and the program has been correct in the past. According to my information, the 5J and the 5N will have an extra missile hardpoint in the right torso (and the 5S will have an extra missile hardpoint in the left arm). I guess it won't matter once the trebuchet is out, just be sure to check all of the variants before you buy.

I might do something wacky like a fast support with LRM 5s and a mix of PPCs and medium lasers.

Or one could mix an LRM 15 with an SRM 6 and a PPC with some lasers or something, basically a mixed mech.

I don't know, I'll have to get it in mechlab first. You can always simply slap a bunch of SRMs on it with some medium lasers and the fastest engine you can find.

Because SRMs are probably a bit too brutally efficient (And LRMs a bit too brutally inefficient, especially with ECM and the current map designs).

SRMs are so damn light, they really support huge engine sizes.
