Hi,

I have a funny bug on Frozen City, night and day.
Currently, the soil looks extremely icy, just like a mirror. Its very hard to orientate oneself.

And: I can see through obstacles like hills and buildings (but not through the dropship in the middle, strangely enough).

That means I see enemy mechs hiding behind hills or snowpiles. They look a bit grey-ish, but are distinctive enough. Also works in Thermal view.

You might think, that this bug is an unfair advantage. But the problem is, that the obstacles are also of low density. That means I sometimes do not know if there is an obstacle...Very uncomfortable to play with that.

I would love to take some screenshots but my last one was not saved and I can't play after todays patch.

Anyone else encountered this?

Specs:
Intel Q6600
Radeon HD6890
4 Gig Ram
Win7 64 bit

Yeah, lots of places in Frozen city and River City you can see through buildings, especially if you have low draw distance

I think this is the first I've ever heard of this one. Sounds new to me. Make sure to submit a e-mail ticket to support@mwomercs.com to make them aware of this and what you are experiencing and how you can recreate it so that they can check it out themselves.

This isn't a Wall-hack. It's a failure of the game to draw the shapes on the map.

I've seen what you are talking about, and after working with the CryEngine for the last few weeks, as far as I can tell, it's caused by a (sometimes temporary) corruption of the map data upon loading into your RAM.

Restarting your client will usually fix the problem. Re-installing, or patching will always fix the problem.

frozen city is terrible. I always have texture problems on buildings, and cliffs.

A screen shot would be interesting. Where might one "reduce" their Draw Distance values?

Forget it, Ninja'd. ;)

Thanks, that reminds me. I was going to uninstall MWO and then reinstall it clean. I get the occasional texture issue in Frozen City and wanted to see if that would clear it up. I assume it is because of patch on top of patch on top of patch. ;)

Because of the size of the maps, Draw Distance only affects textures and detailed polygons right now.

Also, this will not affect terrain, so any part of the map that is not a model would be affected.

What this guy is talking about is that all of the models are replaced with grey spheres (that act as anchors). You still cant shoot through them, and it's extremely annoying to look at an enemy mech and not hit them since the server does not register the hit.

I've had this happen once, but does not seem to be recurring.

I had this happen on my original install. For most people the problem was the anti aliasing settings on their video card. There is a thread around here someone about it. I believe you have to make sure that the AA is set to "game settings" or something similar instead of hard locked to a specific setting in the video card drivers.

This is your ATI anti-aliasing setting. Change it in the Radeon settings to make anti-aliasing controlled by the program.

Had some sort of this on River City. The map loaded without any building, just the water and some terrain, excellent for tracking enemies, very bad for moving around.

And I didn't took any screenshot.

:D ;) :)

There is a [Self Redacted]

I won't say exactly how, but if changing the AA settings doesn't fix the issue for you, then that is the reason, and it is somewhat out of your control.......in a sense.

In one way its not something that can be fixed without probably causing maybe some problems for some.....but I'm sure PGI already know about it and will be working on it.

this. I reported this a while back, there are steps to repeat it easily, but fixing it can be a bit of a pain.

For me, reversing the steps to create the situation does not fix it- I need to do a full clean reinstall of my display drivers.

And, yes, I'm pretty capable with regards to these things. It's definitely exploitable though, and will hopefully get fixed soon

For me situation was fixed by installing latest drivers for my ATI card. Nothing else like changing AA settings, deleting shaders or reinstalling MWO worked.
