Hey Niko,
this new matchmaking is unplayable...I keep trying and I keep getting timed out. Come on, I appreciate the try to get people matched with peers, but this is ridiculous!

I know there's 13 pages of this, but I figured I'd toss my hat in the pile. We had a group of 2 and then 3 and have failed to find a match for the last 15 minutes; even after remaking the group etc.

Please give us as much feedback as you can on the adjustment that is going live now (4-6pm PST) particularly times to find a match for lone wolf players.

Thanks

No change at all. Endless "Failed to find a match" while trying to queue Stalker.

I know "its beta" (it isn't, not really, we are just here paying and supporting while PGI realizes their full glory...), but this new MM represents an epistemic threat to MWO's existence!

I play MWO to fill a particular niche: can fit short rounds in spare time very elastically (i.e. I can play 1 round, or 10 in a row, without a particular commitment).

Now I can't even launch a damn match. I'm on my 7th (WTF!!?!?!) try since patching...

Why bother? I don't do lines. I don't pay to wait in them.... usually. *sigh* And nor does anyone else. As soon as people stop trying, they leave, and the MM will get worse and worse in a self-fulfilling fail... *sniff* I just want to splode robots...

PLS ROLL BACK THEN TRY AGAIN LATER, K THNX BYE.

Someone Squak at them!

The new matchmaker seems to still need some work. Had a drop today in a 4 person group where our team had 2 heavies, 4 mediums and 2 lights and the other team had 4 assaults 3 heavies and 1 medium.

Yes but, you won despite the weight difference? I think the way it's set up now is that player skill trumps mech weight when the matchmaker starts assembling teams. Considering this is a game where a light mech can conceivably take out an assault mech, I can see where the devs are coming from.

Congratulations on your victory over a heavier team, though.

Yes, matching Elo takes higher priority than matching weight classes in the new matchmaking.

You won...that's what counts, your team used its strenghts to its arvantage, taking advantage of the enemies weakness of being Slow by capturing....you won, even down 390 tons to 635... Seems working as intended. Seems those heavy and assault pilots weren't good enough to actually defend their base..

Yes we won. But if the other team had stayed to defend their base there's no way we could have won that match. We only won because they didn't have anybody return to base. I'd rather have a match that is at least close in terms on weight balancing because it is a more satisfactory game experience when there's good combat. I can see having a couple of heavier mechs on the side of the team with lower ELO but 4 assaults vs 0 assaults is a huge mismatch and I don't think either team had a good time that match. Personally I don't like winning by base cap and I know most people don't like losing to base cap when they're winning the combat. I know it's part of the game but it doesn't make for an interesting or fun match.

After PGI did a great job of overcoming the last few technical difficulties I finaly got the chance to play a few solo matches last night with the Elo in place. I gotta say all 3 matches were great as the final results were very close from both teams. The matches lasted twice as long and posed a way more challenging experience than what I have seen in the past.
Nice job Devs, Great game.
Saw Muggins last night.
Thanks Staff for jumping on and testing the issues we had.

Ran the new map as well. Can I just say DAAAMMMMNNN! I thought I was gonna run out of gas before the match was over. Picked up a new ferro amored gas can this morning just in case. Nice new playground.

I played for several hours on Tuesday after the patch and yesterday as well, in groups or solo only once in several dozen matches was a match failed to be found. We were running many combos of light/med/heavy/assaults. The only match that failed as a solo as a heavy.

How is skill being assessed? I feel I am being dropped regularly with less skilled players. I was off to a rough start with this game but my stats have been movine in the right direction.

If memory serves correctly, a dev said its based primarily on your win/loss ratio, with an additional secondary factor of how well you do piloting the weight class (light, medium, heavy, or assault) of the mech you intend to play with.

From my limited experience, getting a test server going open to players might be the best way to go. No stats, no c-bills, and limited fights, but allows the average player to log in and try out tactics and possibly builds. You could easily limit who is allowed to join by first-come-first serve, premium status, or whatever standard you set.

Am enjoying the new MM quite a bit. SO far the games have been above average..
all the pugstoming ive endured has paid off.. Its as if Ive been playing with a patch over my eye that inhibits my riatsu, and now the patch is off..

Can´t say that i like it that much ... sure some games are really great and close but mostly it is just a total missmatch of mechs on each side. can´t tell for sure but i think before elo the game also had tonnage or at least mech-class as a "stat" for the mm

and i would love to see my elo-rating ... have the feeling that i am often getting into premade-player matches and i don´t think that i am that good to compete with a trained team.

Doesn't look that way from what I saw but it would be nice if it did. I play a lot better in some chassis than others so I tend to stick with them when I'm trying to build up some c-bills or when playing with friends. It would be nice to get the benefit of the doubt on my rating when I'm piloting something I just bought to try out or one I am trying to resurrect one more time before I give up and sell it for good.

There is happening something strange, but if I dont make 4-6 kills, my team have chance 99.9% to loose. Please return old matchmaker. Or make match of peaple (ELOmax-ELOmin)<200.
