after deleting the following files the patche goes on with 2of2
CryRenderD3D9.dll
CryRenderD3D11.dll
mwoclient.exe

the old one, the new one and the one which is written like above.

continue patching more infos when done

edit1: redownloading deletet files, looks fine so far
edit2: done downloading, and searching for a game. looks good now for me
edit3: game startet, droped in the new map, looks smooth no problems anymore.

Maybe the anti virus software is locking the executable file for inspection, and the patcher can't resume until the .exe is unlocked.

Anyone ever noticed how it seems like with so much software these days that the users are better at finding problems than the coders?

I didn't get the pop up box ... however, my patcher did stop at "Please Wait" for several minutes after finishing the first of two patches ... it then continued to complete the patch process after a while.

Same here.

Totally off topic, but that is one of the reasons Open Source software is so powerful...

This worked for me as well. And Im probably worse at this technical type stuff than your average lab monkey.

*edit* I spoke too soon. It stopped again with the same "quit box."

This problem has been happening to me for the last 6 or so patches, but only on my system that installed the game on an alternate hdd, i.e. installed on drive R: instead of C: the main hdd. The only way I can get the game to fully "patch" on the system with the game installed on the R: drive is to uninstall the game and do a full install. This happens on all the patches and hotfixes. So for example, when they hotfixed the marketplace to remove a sale, I have to uninstall and reinstall the whole game. It gives me the same "do you really want to quit the installer/patcher?" to which you can quit or cancel, but quitting ends it right there, and cancel puts it in a stuck state and it never finishes patching.

To clarify, the problem system puts the game on a ramdisk mapped to R: using IMDISK.

Mr. FIx it should be able to clear out the install entry from your registry. It's a Microsoft tool, in case you're worried about safety. Here's the link:
http://support.micro...l_and_Uninstall

To all others having this patcher problem, I apologize for the difficulties. If I understand correctly, the leading solution is to try to delete MWOClient.exe, CryRenderD3D9.dll, and CryRenderD3D11.dll. If you are unable to delete them, then disable your AV software and try again. I will definitely update this with any corrections pointed out.

I'm investigating why anti-virus software is suspicious of the patcher behaviour, but rest assured that no genuine virus reports have come in. Virus scanners think the executable may be a trojan just due to the way it updates itself. Any executable with our company's signature still intact is definitely clean of any virus, malware, or any other sort of malicious software (although I can't rule out the possibility that the game may get frustrating at times, we are not responsible for other people's kill streaks :) ).

Props go to Ptownsen for finding the solution, and Kracuste for figuring out the AV work-around (in response to PurpleNinja's observation). Credit goes where it's due, thnx gang!
