With the new patch PPC's will disable ECM on hit for 4 seconds. This in my opinion is amazing. Having played a couple matchs in my Centurion-AL with dual ER PPC's the effects are quiet awesome. Being able to hit a Enemy 3L guarding his team from LRM's in the river, then watch him crumble under a hail of LRMs is really satisfying. Thanks to the fact that lagshield is pretty much gone hitting them is never an issue, making ECM much easier to deal with.

In my opinion this new buff helps us deal with ECM relatively easily given you have members who can focus down the ECM-less Raven or Atlas. What are your thoughts on the buff?

Lower PPC heat + high rate of fire means they are also working extremely well as a trooping all around useful weapon. I am running a largepulse + 2 PPC catapult and getting 3/1 ratios 500 dmg all day.

Except TAG doesn't do damage, PPCs do. And tagging an ECM mech only makes him targetable, PPCing him makes his shrouded buddies targetable as well.

I now prefer a k2 trial mech on my team than a gauss or AC/20 K2. After only a few rounds, I've noticed this makes a huge difference. PPC Stalkers have a whole new meaning as well. A major balance issue has been pretty well addressed-as there is almost always at least 1 PPC on a team.
