Well for now this is how I've been running them, have 1 more video to go. I like them fast, if I want to play a medium with a standard engine I'll play a HBK :) . Will see how they turn out long term.

Trebuchet 7M - Fast Brawler
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...a479e034e77654c

50/50 Tons
50 Firepower
1.39 Heat Efficiency
304/338 Standard Armor
Endo-Steel Structure
Double Heatsinks
14 Total DHS
XL 325 Engine
3x Jump Jets
3x Medium Laser
2x SRM6 x2 Ammo
1x Streak SRM2 x1 Ammo

Here's 2 alternate 7Ms:

This is really interesting because the ERPPC let's you deal damage/negate ECM at long distances AND up close, which allows you to use your streaks as well. It does really well vs lights, even those with ECM.

This is good if you like to take risks or if you know you have a good ECM light on your team to stick with.

Trebuchet 5J - Fast Support
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...bce99ebf4ef5b9b

50/50 Tons
56 Firepower
1.35 Heat Efficiency
304/338 Standard Armor
Endo-Steel Structure
Double Heatsinks
13 Total DHS
XL 300 Engine
1x Jump Jet
4x Medium Laser
1x TAG
1x LRM20+Artemis x3 Ammo

Trebuchet 7k - Fast Sniper

They seem very similar to the builds I've been recording for my video... personally I swap the role of the 7M and the 5J. Such that my 5J is the brawler with 1 LL, 4 ML, and SRM6 with 14DHS and a 320XL engine. The straight up alpha strike when I flank rear armour is overpowering... so much so that I've one shot Cicada's and Spider's when caught unawares.

My 7M is the default fast LRM boat, I've managed to get 2 ML, tag, and 2 LRM15's with 10DHS and a 300XL. Thus has speed, jump jets and enough ammo to punish most targets. The 7K is the odd one, nearly everyone I talk to finds it hard to build or just weird. I set mine up more like a Centurion, Guass rifle to snipe, 2 SRM4's and 2 ML... with the 250XL I can brawl to some degree and pack a mean punch at any range.

I think those are great builds. I bought the 5N as my first Treb and my first thought was to jam 2 LRM15s in it, but it just felt too "LRM boaty". On maps with heavy cover I felt I couldn't contribute enough. After looking at your builds I decided to downsize to LRM10s and stuff a larger engine in it for more mobility. http://mwo.smurfy-ne...6a2332ab8d38e79

How would you build a 5N?

Lol. My first match with that 5N build resulted in 3 kills, 3 assists and 812 damage. We lost but I still think it's a good build.

I like that 7k build with 2 ERPPC's. I got one yesterday and have been struggling to find a use for it. Then again I am too poor right now for and XL engine

How are you all finding the Treb does with XL's? Would you put it more in line with the Dragon or the Centurion in terms of performance using XL's?

Thanks!

That seems good actually. Only thing is maybe swap the arm the TAG is on so you don't lose all 3 ML at once.

Trebs do fine with XLs, use the speed to stay out of harms way. So far losing a side torso hasn't been a problem, damage seems to spread across them pretty well.

The Treb with XL is much like the Centurion. The hitboxes of both mechs are very similar, in that your large arms absorb alot of incoming fire before reaching the torso... so most games you will find yourself slowly stripped of armour, the XL is pretty well protected for quite awhile. Had many a game where I lose my arm's and only have the SRM6 in the torso left to run around with.

Yea had that observing an Atlas... Betty says Right torso destroyed, but the arm is red with a black torso on the paperdoll and he still have the weapons there. Think it's some bug. Oh an as an aside I upgraded the 7M, dropping 1 ton of LRM ammo and an LRM15 to upgrade the other to a LRM20, and slap 2 SSRM2's with 2 tonnes of ammo. Now it has speed, long-range and short range punch! ;)

I'll make a Trebuchet compilation soon with the 7M, 7K and 5J.
