Cant really offer an opinion as I dont play centurions, but Im about to buy one an I quite like the look of that so I might steal it, I was looking for a hit and run style mech.

If you're a good aim, and get good at timing a 1.1ish second key press, UAC5 would help you do good localized damage - something that you might be wanting a little more in the build considering you'll get plenty of splash from the SRMs. Adding to that it will give you a little more versatility at range allowing you to harass people out of position or get a few focused hits on a target along with ML before your SRMs come into effective range. Also allows you to upgrade to ~2 SRM6's for more potency on that SRM alpha.

I ran mine similar to that for a long time only with an AC/5 and standard 245. I ran the cent.D(with LB10) enough matches as a trial mech that when I finally had enough c-bills for it, it had about 32k xp on it.

I just never felt like I could do much damage with the LB10 past 100 meters or so, that's why I went to the u/ac5.

It did seem like most harrasser lights would run away after getting a good taste of LB10 though.

WIth the supposed lb/mg/flamer buff it might be better now, and if you do well with it keep on rolling the LB.

Like Kotsuno says the ac5/ac2/uac5 will give you more range and a few tons to work with, so just something to think about.
