Recently I've been having trouble getting mercenaries for free from mektek. I downloaded the MTX thing, went to games available and there was no games or anything. I now cannot remove the program from my computer because the installation file thingy is corrupted. Any help or links to solve/download the game for free would helpful.

Mektek doesn't support mw4 anymore since they went on to Heavy Gear.

Your only hope is to torrent it off somewhere.

Since when is a download called "support"... screw them, they fought for it for years, now leave it behind like its nothing.

They never held anything of value my eyes, and its not gonna change soon.

edit: I guess so.

Never really cared for Heavy Gear. It just lacked the "depth" of Mechwarrior. I did play it... it just wasn't as fun. Maybe it'll be way better than Hawken though.

Heavy gear was an amazing game, I felt activision did a good job with it after having the battle tech licenses stolen out from under them. Heavy gear was certainly more face paced then mechwarrior but it allowed for some really crazy mech builds and situations. For instance you could upgrade your mech to be submersible. I used this then would hide under a bridge with a power axe and ambush people like a troll.

I also miss HG and HG2. I'm looking forward to playing a new HG game, but I have a sick feeling it's going to be very stripped down version of the previous games. We will see in due time though.

It wasn't MekTeks fault at all that the game was removed. Microsoft had a prissy fit over usage rights and made them remove it. You can read up on it here : http://www.mektek.ne...n-mechwarrior4/

There are some known compatibility issues if you're running Windows 7/8 so you may have to do some research to get it to work correctly.

Simplest way I got it working for windows 7 Is to press Alt + Enter to force it to window mode and it will run smoothly. Otherwise for me at least it didn't like running fullscreen on windows 7.

Look at the entire "funding for MechWarrior 5...oh wait, now it's MechWarrior Online" saga. It'll be the basic HG combat system, stuffed into a plain brown low-content Free-to-Play wrapper.

Just pull up the exe file right click and check run in compatibility mode windows 97/98 it will work fine.

I think it also depends on what version of the game you're running. I replayed vengence and black knight right before getting into mwo. I can't remember what I did but I had to set compatibility and had to have a certain version. Like I think I didn't run the updates and could only install one of the mech add on packs and couldn't use a nocd mod. And even then it was still a little buggy.

This link doesnt download MW4, it only downloads a installer which installs a VPN Client which doestn get any connection, and it also installs some browser bar and oder adware which you dont want !
