Hidden Elo score at this point. After you've been playing a few weeks, the skill of your average opponent is where you can guess you are at.

I'm pretty sure I read that ELO is a hidden stat.

ELO is only for matchmaking, you are probably dropped against a team which has approximately the same W/L ratio, or whatever stats they are using for calculation.

It doesn't really matter does it? ELO is not some kind of online leaderboard..

When a ranking system is online it is only natural players want to know their standing in it.

why, so they can wag it around like their e-peen like they do with the useless k/dr? or to find out how high they are so they can skew it down so they get easier matches?

is there an actual good reason to know that i'm not seeing?

On one hand letting players see their Elo lets them manipulate it and can lead to cheesing.
On the other hand hiding it prevents people from seeing that they're improving (if they're improving).

There will be other stats in which to judge your own prowess.

ELO is , and from what I understand always will be, a hidden stat.

Cheers.

How do we know if it is working properly if we can't see it?

A customer wants to see it, how is that not a good reason?

I am fairly certain Match Score is the key stat ELO is tied to. They seem to always be a number between 0 and 100.

So keep track of your match scores and keep a running average. Thus far, I'm still failing even if they grade on a bell curve ;)

Stats. Some people like em, others don't. As many reasons to like them as to not. Personally I could care less unless I had access to scads of data for self-evaluation purposes but that's just me. Peening is only one use for known stats.

Those customers are gamers. Internet Denizens. They cannot be trusted with this information, they cannot be reasoned with, and they will abuse their access to it in many hilarious and unexpected ways.

Please, keep it secret ;)

Being a customer doesn't entitle you to everything. Try and ask your local newsagent if you're allowed to walk around the back and have a look at stuff, because you're a "customer".

...this isn't a physical place that only certain people are allowed, it's a damn number that dictates who you drop against, in other words affects every game I play. I want to see it.

It doesn't have to be public, make it like the current stats. Super secret only you can see.

Nah. It's actually kinda refreshing. Gives folks less to complain about.
