Don't feel bad, it is up to the developer's to balance the game not the players.

Using even those mechs which are considered OP can only help provide the developer's with accurate statistics.

They really haven't "fixed" ECM. Funny thing is the Atlas D-DC is now one of the best ranged snipers due to ability to protect itself from returning LRM fire.

Dual ER PPC, Gauss and LRM 20 + ECM

Yeah, really, ECM was about the worst, most unbalanced game mechanic I have ever seen added to a game.

That they haven't come right out and admitted they f-ed it up is a bit of a shame. That the do things like the ridiculous narc "buff" just prove they dont understand the monster they created.

I just got nearly the exact same stats in my CTF-1X; 2 kills, 5 assists and about 60 more damage.

To fix something, PGI would have to admit they screwed up. They won't.

Reducing the health of ECM and allowing PPC to disable ECM for 4 seconds do not address the underlying problems.

This I disagree with. With ELO in place, Pugging is about a thousand times more fun.

Now, pugstomping probably just became a pain in the ***, because your artificially inflated skill level.

i dont really care about ecm tbh. i dont even bother to boat streaks or lrms. direct fire weapons have always been my forte and will always be. if i see an ecm mech i just signal my teammates on teamspeak where his coordinates are and we rain fire upon it. now in the case of multiple ecm mechs we just go for whoever is the biggest threat.

sure i guess if its against a pug without teamspeak i could see the problem of getting cut off. but sticking together will eliminate that problem. the rest of it is up to player skill. raven 3Ls on the other hand still are a problem with hits not registering well and that bit of lagshield (especially for higher ping players like me) along with them carrying streaks.

imo they should address the missile balance 1st before ecm.

My God, what is the point of ELO skill balancing when you now seem to allow completely unbalanced mech drops? We just rolled some poor team 8-0, we had 3 Atlas + 2 Stalkers + 1 Cat + 1 Med + 1 light, the other side didn't have a single Assault mech, and was composed of 1 Cat, 3 Trenchbuckets + 2 other meds and 2 lights. We probably out tonned them by 300 tons.

C'mon PGI, get your act together, this is even worse than before ELO, what does it matter if we are supposedly matched in skill with the other side and our own PUGmates when the other side has zero chance in an actual battle due to the mismatched tonnage of the drop?

Of course, as has been said myriad times, this would be solved by having a real drop lobby like other similar games have (WoT, for an example)...which would have the added bonus of less people doing simultaneous dropping and other rigs to play with and/or against your choice of players...

Back where I'm from, we never had weight matchmaking, and we managed just fine.

Not to mention the good, old MW3 and 4. By the way, weight and ECM of the teams on the screenshots are:

530 (4 ECM) - 510

585 (4 ECM) - 525

520 (2 ECM) - 530 (2 ECM)

530 (1 ECM) - 505 (1 ECM)

Tonnage is not that much apart, ECM in the first two games on the other hand sucks. The third game has nearly identical numbers but had the worst outcome.

Just finished a match vs SEVEN (7) Stalkers and one Awesome. Our side had one DDc Atlas with the rest heavy,medium, and lights. They must have out weighed us by 200% or more. That we earned 4 kills before losing is a credit to our 4 man + pug team. To say that this matching system is working as intended implies that the developers are crazy or ******; perhaps both. Beta or not, this kind of matching ruins the game for many.
