- Toggle switch between Indirect (Current) and Direct fire modes.
- Direct fire disables all Guidance, except for the Artemis tighter grouping.
- Direct fire increases missile flight speed.
- Direct fire remove the minimum range for damage.

Stops (most) advanced equipment, doesn't prevent standard target acquisition.
Simple, effective, and no longer Capellan Confederation's Stealth Armor.

Because it would illistrate just how terrible LRM's are currently when you spend over half a match with useless weapons. They travel so slowly its effectively impossible to dumb fire them on a target and hit. Turning them into essentialy Big SRM launchers with no range restriction gives them at least some purpose.

Why not just drop all LRM's and slap a bunch of PPC's? If you can tag them with a
PPC why not just boat those?
This isnt about forcing people to switch out, its about making something Viable without having to nerf something else.

Even if you can't get a lock on an ECM mech because he is to far away: you can always dumbfire them.
the only thing from your post, and from some post in the suggestions forum, that i would like to be added would be a way to set the angle in which the launchers fire.
The cent, as an example, fires his rockets directly in front of him, where they slowely start to rise. why can't i fire them in the air, or in a ballistic firing arc or something?

No they aren't they're friggin awful, first buff needs to be damage. they hardly do any because of the spread. Make them 2.5 per missile like SRMs and streaks it doesn't make any sense.

That's what I experienced, too. I don't know how high or "direct" the flight path of LRM without lock is but I think it is not straight from launcher to target.

If I have visual, everything in range 180-750m gets LRM rain, ECM or not. Even better if my lights have TAGs.
Instead of trying to adjust whole game to your playing style, try adatping your playing style to the game.

They fly slowly, are bright balls of light arcing through the sky, and they just fall without grouping at all. A Machinegun will do more damage than dumbfired LRM's. Thats how terrible they are right now.
The Direct fire Change would remove the arcing trajectory and instead shoot them straight forward towards your aim point. No Arc, but they move faster. Because the mode removes all possibility for guidance they explode on anything they hit regardless of minimum range. They retain the 1km maximum range but chances are your not going to hit anyone at that range anyway.

I still see ECMed Teams crushed by people that know how to put their LRM boats to good use.

Tag only works if the launcher is not flocked by ECM himself. Every LRM launcher ive seen since it was introduced draws ECM to it like moths to a flame.

I am kinda tempted to go all "L2P" on ya, i will refrain from doing it right now thoug.
Did you actually play a LRM "boat" ?
I say "boat" cause you should never, ever completely boat LRMs, always bring backup weapons AND a TAG. (with the only excuse here being the A1).
My only LRM-boat runs with TAG and Artemis, and it wreaks havok.
My other LRM-centric mechs, like my Cent-AL, do tons and tons of damage, too.
so: NO for more damage or anything like this for LRMs from my point of view.

Yes, they dont need more damage, but a smarter "Dumbfire" wouldnt hurt.

That's because most LRM boaters still are beginners or part of those complaining about ECM and thus stay WAY behind their own team and give themselves away by their anxious shooting at every 1 second lock they can get wasting half their ammo for no damage to be easily picked by 2Ds 3Ls and 3Ms. Those very same derpheads will also cry "maintain locks" at the start of every game.
Trust me LRMs are very viable and surely don't need such a direct fire mode to circumvent ECM.

Just sigh and take the time to breakdance in what's left of your cockpit when those circumstances go away. Trust me. It's fun. Or at least take the time to toss out a witty one-liner. Also good for laughs.
