Explanation: Warcraft 3 method only allows you to deselect a few maps. so you couldn't use this to just play one map all the time.

- Randomizing (with map selecting, which maps to include)
- Single Map Selecting

ultimately if you are able to choose a single map the other option becomes superfluous, it could be included as a side thing by pgi but being able to choose a single map supersedes the other option.

I think he meant something like this in the game lobby:
Choose game: [Random] [Select Map]

Of course some maps would get rather little play time. That is better imo than forcing players to play every map as it comes up randomly and where some folks simply disconnect. Which I think is unfair towards the other players and never do this.
Problem might be how to integrate this with the matchmaker as it could make it much more difficult to find enough players. The algorithm could first select a random map for the first player in the queue which is part of his set. Then only use players who also have this map in their selection and check if they fit (Elo, weight class, magic mumbo jumbo number). Popular maps would have rather closely matched teams whereas unpopular ones may have some serious spread.
For now I am happy with the random maps. I'd just like to see Alpine one day.

It's not fair to everyone else.
What I mean by that, is... if you build a splattercat and only enable maps that favour that build, your K/D and W/L stats are going to artificially inflate because you are always playing on the most advantageous playing field for your build.

CW will replace random mappage potentially, in influencing people on how they do their builds and reduce min-max builds to the pilots ballsy and capable enough or merely ballsy (and an easy kill) pilots so that there's some diversity to tactics and matches imo. Until then, since we're still basically beta testing fight mechanics, let the randomness of maps do that for the health of the game.

But surely in time they will get to it. I think I read somewhere at sometime that a 'training' room was in the works however there was no timeline on when it would be added.
But would be nice.
