My clan is not always online....and sometimes I just like to go solo.....especially to test Elo perhaps....

I am not asking for advice....really......

The op was saying about the ECM terror (at least I assume that is what he meant)...I made an offhand comment that really I could do with more ECM because there are an awful lot of missiles going around atm and almost no ECM at all on my teams (late at night at least). Some guy makes a silly comment about cover, as if that worked against any LRM team ever that has at least 2 thoughts an hour and this is now blown way out of proportion.... :/

Edit: TL:DR Stopping now, I still like ECM even if I cannot use it myself.

Im not sure when ECM was a terror to begin with. I also don't see how the PPC change is going to make a significant impact on anything other than the DDC. If I can reliably hit a Light mech with a PPC I can conclude two things.

1. If I can hit it reliably enough for streaks or LRMs to lock and rain fire down on a Light mech I really wouldn't need that LRM fire to begin with.

2. If I am using SRM's Ballistics or Lasers. then I would not need to wait for someone to hit it with a PPC before dog-piling it

Now for the DDC it does change things a little bit. They are alot easier to hit with a PPC however point 2 above stil applies to that situation. The only real change is the effectiveness of LRM support against an enemy DDC.

Perhaps they should make any ECM equipped mechs firing the ER PPC to also turn off for 4 seconds. As of now, the Atlas D-DC along with Cataphract 3D are the most effective long range builds on Alpine. Cataphracts can use its jumpjets to quickly fire its shots over cover, with dual ER PPC and Gauss Rifle. D-DC's ECM prevents retaliation from LRM boats, while able to launch its own LRM and snipe.
