The game is awesome, but I have a notebook with a Core I7 and a Radeon 7730 and the top FPS is 20.

That is because everything is on minimal and the resolution is 1280 x 800.

Developers must do something about this.

FPS are chainging rapidly between patches for lower end comps, if that makes you happier.

Sometimes its 10fps more, sometimes its 15 less.

My core I5 desktop runs it flawlessly at max settings. Laptops are not gaming machines. The difference between a laptop and a desktop with the same processor, ram, display card, etc is that the desktop runs at full power. Even at max performance settings, the laptop will always run at a much slower rate. It's the reason I gave up my dream of buying a laptop.

Your resolution is the one largest contributor to frames with this game. I run the game on an i7-2760QM with a GTX 570m and can run it all at very high between 35 and 50 FPS. Try dropping the resolution first then see where it leads, drop post processing, AA, and a couple less needed details. General detail should run fine for you on medium.

You said notebook, bro. That's your trouble.

A GTS8800 will outpower that card of yours in your notebook. It's just a sad fact. Notebooks are not outpowering desktops right now. Be it heat, power (ac consumption), size - whatever. Just think about your power brick there. Most are like 150w tops? My power supply on my box is 750w. That power alone, along with size constraints....

Not going to happen. It's sad, but it is.

Point is this game is still well playable on many laptops, and you don't have to drop $2000 on one either. My MSI laptop runs this game all on "Very High" at middle resolution. He's not asking for state of the art performance to match the best of 2013 desktop graphics cards, just something which will run this game. His specs are well within the limits of even the most demanding current games. I blame A: His settings, he could run at a lower res. and B: The optimization of this game code. When many many players run games with better graphics such as BF3, Skyrim, etc. maxed out, yet MWO is a slideshow, there is a problem here, don'tcha think?

Which one? A notebook i7 does not carry the same gaurantee of power that it does on a desktop. If it's an ultra-low voltage model, it can even be worse than a desktop i3. There is a great deal of variance in the mobile i7 CPUs, you should state which one you have. 7730M is passable (for mobile) but not great.

the 570m and 7730 are way diffrent caliber graphics cards. yours was high end for that generation his is low end for this generation. even a 7770 would struggle with this game 7850 and up is where this game is playable at decent settings.

the 7730m which is what would be in his laptop is just a sad weak pathetic card, only good for simple gaming not anything demanding like this game.

Hm. I find it still pretty playable at 20 FPS, though not ideal.

Also, probably your Video Card has compatibility issues.

7730 is a pretty lowend graphics card, I think the one before it is 7710. It's a notebook though. I wouldn't imagine being able to play any kind of a modern game on this card.

I run a pretty basic HP Envy dv6,

Intel Core i7-3630QM
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)
12GB DDR3 SDRAM
750GB 5,400RPM Hard Drive
Blu-ray Player and SuperMulti DVD Burner
Multi-format Digital Media Card Reader
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M

and it runs the game great.... well, unless I am using Starbucks WiFi in mexico......

I would also look to update your drivers. If you're still running graphics card drivers from the laptop manufacturer, try to update them to drivers that come directly from ATi. If it's one of those switchable graphics cards, then you'll need 3rd party drivers to do this.

Its the video. That 7730 won't cut it. I got 20-30 in a 7750 Core I5, on low settings, bumped up to a geforce660 and have max settings with 60-80fps.

You have to work on naming the cards, you're mixing desktop and notebook ones all around...

7850 desktop can run this game maxed out, oc'd its around a gtx580.

My Sager 9170 strongly disagrees (i7 363qm + 680M). Between 50 to 60 FPS in very high (some dips to the 40s). Admittedly, a good gaming laptop is not as cheap as a desktop, but I sure love having desktop power on the go..
