Hey everyone,

In the recent no guts no galaxy interview with Russ - He mentioned a strong possibility of Singleplayer.

Should this be done?

Sign off with a Yes or a No and what you want to see :)

Well, it would give new players a lower stress environment to learn how to play. Maybe. I guess I wouldn't mind some sort of single player campaign, but Community Warfare definitely has to come first.

Agreed Community warfare needs to come first. I am talking around the start of the new year maybe.

I'd rather they make a good tutorial series for newbies. Especially educating them on how to avoid LRM deaths.

Probably more reasonable to ask if it can happen, not should it happen. The closest thing we have to AI now is when the base turret shoots out your right leg.

An offline single player mode would be a great addition.

A single player campaign could have very nice multiplayer spillovers.

Anyone but me grinning at the thought of a Survival mode in The Scorpion's Nest ? OMG SO MANY **** TANKS FIRING AC5's AT ME WHEN WILL IT END?

I am not talking about training.

I personally think that we should have some sort of campaign with cooperative play.

Look at games like Kingdom come deliverance. Now Imagine that in the world of battle tech.

Not to mention the cooperative play possibilities

But that is just me.

I would love a horde mode vs. tanks. It can't be that hard to program.

This might be expecting to much, but I would love more than anything to have another Mercenaries game. I would kill for a dynamic merc campaign similar to what was in Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries.

Something with random missions and dynamic elements like planets changing hands would easily be worth the price of a full game for me.

Single player is a fantastic trainer for multiplayer. which is what the SP campaigns for COD and Battlefield are. I think its a necessity.

I think it would would be interesting. Especially if there was loot you could add to your MWO account. Even if you had to beat on a hard mode or something.

I also think 4-5 player coop campaigns would be a good idea. Small Coop games are starting to become more of a thing.

Meh...once the core of CW is complete and we have significantly more maps. I don't a single player campaign to interrupt fulfilling the development needs of CW.

Not at the expense of the game I bought into... i.e. MW:O... <_<

That said, if it can be done without sacrificing this side of the game, "more" can only be a good thing...

Russ did say that finishing CW and improving UI 2.0 would come before anything else.

I think a single player campaign would be great. The hardest part would be choosing how to go about it. It would be impractical to make a separate story line for every house, clan and for merc units. Unless they made it a bunch of generic missions you played in sequence and then slightly altered those to tailor them for the different units. Perhaps something along the lines of one of the inner sphere houses or a merc unit fighting off the clan invasion. That's one of the things I liked most about MW2 Mercenaries.

I think it would be a great place to start for new players if they could do single player, or co-op and get a reduced amount of c-bills, mech XP and GXP. This way they could learn the game and get the resources they need before going to multi-player. Single player mode makes a lot more sense for new players than how we are currently tossing them right into PVP.

Up to the player base and whether or not they are willing to support it.

Could you point me towards where exactly he said that? I would love to see that... :)
