With the incoming IIC mechs, anyone think Phelan's Wolfhound could become a Clan Hero. With the clan tech, it cannot be an IS mech, but it's almost too iconic to not have in-game.

Also bump!

I don't know.. mixed tech is a dangerous territory...

Anyway, next Clan pack:

Legacy Package

light: Piranha
medium: Conjurer/Hellhound
heavy: Grizzly (or Black Python)
assault: Bane (or Stone Rhino)

EDIT: And another IIC pack:

light: Locust IIC
medium: Shadow Hawk IIC
heavy: Rifleman IIC
assault: Warhammer IIC

Kodiak was released

Grinner is not mixed tech. Just an IS tech Wolfhound made into a Clan tech Wolfhound IIC.

(*gasp* They should bring out BOTH.)

Conjurer is really just a Wolverine IIC. Why not a unique standard medium like the Vapor Eagle? The Corvis would be nice for reverse jointed fans, but really it is a Corvis, it is a small wonder it could spawn anything so vicious as a Stormcrow.

Because bringing in the Conjurer my remove the last of the bad taste in our mouths given to us from the MW4 "Conjurer".

This.
The MW4's Hellhound is actually a Black Lanner, but since they couldn't make MASC work, they renamed it to Hellhound.

I could go for a GRF-IIC and a LCT-IIC, myself.

Then again, I could go for a Firemoth, Dragonfly, (pick a heavy), Kingfisher lineup, too. I think they can tweak/quirk/remove/replace something to make the Firemoth fit the game's parameters, but other mechs are higher priority for development I suppose.

I actually liked the MW4 Hellhound and saw it as a distinct design from the Conjurer. The fact that it had some omnipods, implying it was an OmniMech, also marks it as different.

If it was supposed to be a Black Lanner it should have weighed five tons more, had more missiles, and been a whole lot faster stock. It is still a IIC anyways, and should be part of a IIC pack. Hopefully the next IIC pack.

The Linebacker? I'd use the Fire Falcon as the Light for that package, though, there is a good reason there are only two canon 20 ton Omni's in the entirety of BT.

True, but yet another Wolfhound only with lasers? God, no!
And how would players would master this mech? With more 3 invented (Clan) variants with only energy hardpoints?

A Wolfhound with an SSRM-2 and MG in each arm would be pretty cool. Defeats the purpose of an ammo independent 'Mech, which is unacceptable.

No no no the mw4 hellhound is a work of beautiful art. I say it should be incorporated into the bit lore as the war hound. Make it a super rare mech to explain it never showing up in major conflicts. I loved that mech LOVED IT. Light cause rifle and some medium lasers that was a mean mean harasser

Yes, and Zilla Jr. is a great giant monster. But he is still not Godzilla. (Zilla on the other hand is crap no matter what you call it and lives only to die by said other two.)

Bigger engine cap and a couple less MGs would have made the Arrow perfect, actually.

Alternatively, if you are like me and have an aversion to XL engines, current engine cap and the availability of LAC/2 would have made it perfect, too.

On anything but a BJ-3 with an ERPPC+PPC combo, I just feel it's not necessary. You get little meaningful firepower or cooling advantage with any payload outside of those aforementioned PPCs by equipping an XL, yet you triple the number of critical components by making those un-shielded sides contain the engine. Since I lose sides before dying almost every time, XL is simply no bueno. Also, for a close-quarters face-roller like the Arrow, having a Standard is extra goodies for obvious reasons.

That said, even the XL-equipped BJ-3 toaster strudel will get wrecked by a Vindicator pastry, all because the Vindicator can soak with its arms.
