Im bad, Ill admit it, but Im seeing "pro" teams in the low areas and it seems like theyre gaming their losses just to pwn the bads.
...I miss Elo

I am not saying the reset wasn't flawed (it was) but if someone is sand-bagging, you shouldn't be able pick them out of the crowd, or PSR will too.

yah that
Like teams that before the change when we ran against them we'd go "oh **** these guys are good" or guys that come up really good in tourneys
Cant imagine its that hard to do; just walk into combat and miss alot, die repeat

you're probably just modest and are really in tier 3 and thus seeing tier 1 teams

no; I usually play all lrm boats
so yeah... My overall KDR is .8 or lower
That and Ive been being owned by said high level teams for the past hour or so so my psr SHOULD be in t he tank

Why is T1 able to go against anything bellow T2? Beats me. Really feels like a backass decision although the population might not be healthy enough to support it.

my KDR is the same just cus I like to have fun with a l ot of **** mechs but I know I"m in a higher tier as when I choose to play better mechs I have very good games and have seen some good players in my matches and asked around and everyone seems to think we're in tier 2-3 currently so I don't think KDR means much. You can be averaging tons of damage and points and not many kills and still be ina top tier

probably because there's not that many T1 players in the world so they need a bigger pool

Which is pretty much what I said... granted maybe poorly said it.
Should this game get enough new players on the steam release that make their way up to T1, I hope they will reconsider their MM "guide lines".
In the ideal situation, you want T1 to go against T1. Right now the population cannot support this ideal.

Well its driving the only friend I have in this game away. He gets bored when we spend a solid hour getting farmed by tourney leaders

As someone who was reset to tier 4.5 (because of limited play this year), my plan is to grind chassis, not sand-bagging, but handicapping, since I am no longer under constant meta pressure. But intentionally lowering PSR would be tedious and earn no chill or XP.

Can't say I blame him.
The first day after this new system hit I was ion a group of rag-tag players. People that simply play this game day to day just to enjoy their free time and "have fun", as subjective as that term is.
We ended up against either a 228 or SJR 4-6man 4 or 5 times in a row.
First time I rage quit this game.

Then whats the point?
wtf is the point with having tiers if they arent gonna be fighting each other and are fighting ppl lower than them anyways?
i mean Elo was better at sorting people then this, now its just chaos.
doesnt matter what tier your in your still gona be fighting everyone

Take a look at some of the additions and changes PGI has made recently.
My hole guess is that this is something in preparation of the steam release.
Population right now, again based on a guess, probably isn,t healthy enough to support their system the way they want it so to have to loosen it up a bit. Once this game hits steam and people start populating the other tiers, I would take a bet on MM getting a bit more, restrictive.

We've been running against HHoD and 228 the last hour. If we're getting massacred (I mean really destroyed with 75 damage max) Why arent we dropping in psr to somewhere we're SUPPOSED to be?!

PSR, and similarly ELO, isn't something that drops within a game or two. This is usually something that adjusts over a couple of dozen of games.

...the past hour
wasnt one or two games. I die, hop in another mech, rinse repeat. Ive probably been in 15-20 games in that time lol
4 mins a match, actually that sounds about right so 10-15 lol

Still comes back to the original point, T1 can match against T2 and T3. You are probably still in that bracket.

Admittedly I cannot say with 100% certainty, but I have played very few games this year, mostly in unskilled urbanmechs. PGI stated PSR is retro active to January. So initial guess is default tier, mentioned to be 4.5 to 4.25. And my first few games reinforce that theory (I have perform very well in a very mediocre chassis).
