There are alot of Scum Bags in the Steam community... they are bound to eventually find MWO anyway...
Sad part about being Free to Play, is that games like that tend to attract the Scum of the Earth... the F2P games are free and Scum tend to like ruining others gaming experience...
Bound to find alot that will try and find a way to Bot, Leech Exp/C-Bills during battles, find exploits ect ect... cause E-Peen fights and flame wars... Hate Each other... Target innocent players... and the Steam community for the most part are good at that lol...

If MWO shows up on Greenlight, I'll be voting for it and annoying the ever-loving **** out of my buddies to get it on Steam.

Personally, I'm not against Steam, but I really don't want to see PGI starved because of this. Imagine that a huge percentage of our money would end up with Steam, which did squat for the franchise so far. Doesn't sit right with me if that's how it's gonna be played out in the end.
Besides, nothing stops us from adding this game manually to our Steam browsers and launch the game through Steam.

Tribes Ascend and most if not all of the MMO's have their own stand-alone clients that don't require steam to be in the background.

Let's also remember that the steam client has its own, built-in voice support. If Valve were to broaden that up to group chatting the VOIP solution would be found.

Although IMHO the added (massive) exposure Steam would give would make up for it....
