I went ahead an included all the mechs found in decent numbers for the Inner Sphere around this time period. This isn't taking into account the massive industrial projects the Inner Sphere is currently undertaking to face the clans (See: TRO 3055. Warning: the art is really bad). So some stuff like the Grim Reaper & Salamander were not included even though they were in MW2 Mercs. Also not included were most of the Star League-era mechs of TRO 3058 as those were really only in Comstar's army at the time. But no we have to eat the cake too.

Feel free to correct me if I missed any (as I'm sure you will).

Italics denote decent probability of getting in. Bold indicates past Mech game inclusion. A strike means it likely wont show up due to current game engine restrictions.

Surprisingly, yes, the Wolf Trap was in a mechwarrior game. MW2 Mercs. I don't remember seeing it but it was apparently there.

Just a little correction though.
Goliath is 80 tons, not 85.

The Mechlab technician scratching his head trying to figure out why 5 tons of crap won't fit would care...

The Dropship pilot wondering why the ship is too heavy to take off would care...

Jououuououdas, I like your idea of the quads playing like an FPS, but that's a lot of programming for so few mechs. They'd make more money putting the effort into programming physical attacks. More people want their silly hatchet mechs than Tarantulas.

Dropships that carry mechs in Battletech are limited by slots (mechbays), not tonnage.

Splitting hairs is fun, let's keep it up.

Merlin, Emperor, and Striker should be on list. I think all three were introduced in TRO 3058 but they fit the time period. Merlin was actually in tabletop since the 80s i think as a template mech and other two were Star league designs. All three would be nice additions for the IS.

You're right about the Merlin. Striker is already on there.

Emperor would only be found in Comstar's army (maybe). Didn't show up until 3058 which is outside the scope of this piece. I agree that it would be nice to see though.

Ah, I missed the striker on the original list. I think emperor would be ok, not like highlanders or king crabs were that common according to lore either.

excalibur 70 tons
cestus 65tons
nightstar 95 tons

all mechs that been produced in the 2600-2700 and lost til ComStar fought on tukayyid.
now, tukayyid is past us, those mechs are definetly built early enough, ComStar is not what it was and the Helm library been discovered.

dont forget these mechs.

Yeah idk, IS omnimechs are a whole other **** storm topic that will likely prevent us from seeing them until PGI starts talking about it.

Unfortunate. While inferior, there are a few that have features that make them quite playable. Raptor, Blackhawk-KU, Blackjack to name a few.

Penetrator can probably at least go in the special snowflake section. Same with the Falconer, no?
