Oh I know, I'd like to see them too. It's not impossible (actually it's highly likely) now that the clans have Battlemechs.

The deciding factor will be if there's a player population left by the time we get to them.

now, tukayyid is past us, those mechs are definetly built early enough, ComStar is not what it was and the Helm library been discovered.

A number of us have also requested the Flea and Raptor.

I'll be satiated with a Locust IIC at this point, but that isn't IS an I much prefer IS to Mary Sue Clanner.

Yes but only three variants that do not use out of time line tech..

Still the BSW-X1 and X2 while prototypes are not horrible, and the production BSW-S2 isn't bad, but very similar to the X1, not like it hasn't stopped mechs from getting in before like the Crab or Black Knight....

Are the only IS Mechs left that even cause a Twitch of Interest. Bolded indicate the only ones I would currently even think about spending IRL (against my better judgement, but recognizing my addiction).

Honestly, I really could care less about the game, I'll give Russ an attaboy here and there for getting something right (like finally adding Quick Save to the mechlab) and continue to be critical of almost everything else. But I admit, I have wanted an Assassin for so long that even if I were just to play house and dress it up in the Mechlab, I'd probably buy it. Stupid, I know.

Also note, that while I added the Crossbow Battlemech in, I realize it's essentially extinct, though a few specimens are wandering about. It and it's clan Omni sibling I have always just had an unhealthy fascination with.

It's pretty funny and ironic that one of the best designed Omnis is the humble 25-ton Raptor...

I do remember*. It tied in nicely with general BT lore; i.e. Harrison Bradford and his 3rd Royal Guards.

The Excalibur was also in merc service since the 3030ies. Tiny numbers, of course, but the same is true for King Crabs outside of ComStar e.g.

However since the last Townhall, the tech seems to be more important than the timeline, so SL-Mechs are a possibility.

Yeah in TT they're all pretty useful (except the Strider) but in this game many of them would be at a severe disadvantage due to the speed and IS XL. Also two of them have single heat sinks. AND on top of that quite a few are C3-system based.

Maybe with the release of the Cyclops we'll see C3 make an appearance. But I think it's more likely that the command feature for the Cyclops will probably end up being put on the infamous "backburner" until they just give up on it.

It's basically an Inner Sphere Mist Lynx, but with high mounted hardpoints. Not even close to meta, but it would easily beat the Commando.
