Some Guys have created a Hack with that they can adjust how many damage they take
e.g. they take only 50% or 10% of damage they would get normaly
(works for entire mech or center torso only)

this problem has to be solved server sided

its not allowed to call names here in forum
so please send a email with name to:
hacks@mwomercs.com

please help to report these abhorrent creatures

Why not send this information to the people that can actually investigate it? What are us forumites supposed to do?

While name&shame is forum policy, i second the statement itself. Something is very broken with some peoples hitpoints.
Damage is registered on the HUD correctly, but the amount is not right. Full hits with AC20 in the face of a Cat turn armor to yellow -> NOT right. Please fix.

Its called Lagshield and it happens on mechs going over 100k/ph. Or someone tried firing off PPC shots under 90m, dealing about 0 damage.

lagshield is an other problem

in this case we fired on an atlas and he got almoust no damage
he took 20% or less every shot

Almost certainly not a hack or cheat. Hits and mech stats are calculated by the server which at that point doesn't care at all what your target's client is doing.

the server informs the target about the hits it gets but i doubt that the server calculates the damage
it seems the own damage is calculated by client
and heat management seems to be calculated only by client too

we need to ask the developer

you think damage is calculated client side? really?

Its server side. You can't even fire a shot without getting the servers approval. The server takes your input (key/mouse presses) into "consideration" when determining what you do. Thats the whole point of it being server side, to prevent easily manipulated clients that you see in every game that has client side calculations.

Also, for the record, I have received shots to my Atlas that completely failed to register damage. At least on my paper doll. I have heard that sometimes the paper doll doesn't update properly. This may or may not be unrelated.

is that ur opinion, or do u know it?

a raven got 3 ac20 and much large laser shots in his center torso and it did not died
he only had orange armour
in addition neither his right nor left torso was damaged to orange (3x AC 20 !!!)
and he was hit 100%, he did not circled his enemie, he was running straight in his fire

if the damage was calculated serverside this raven would have been DEAD

he did not died so it cannot be a problem of the "paper doll"
but as Circles End says it can be related

This is how you know netcode is bad in a game, when people start making up client cheats to explain things that shouldn't happen in any modern fps.

elci: What you are seeing is the server deciding some of the hits are not valid (like deciding the ac20 hits missed and the laser hit). If you play long enough, you might notice the server dropping damage against you as well (taking a point blank shot and showing no damage from it).

some hits dont register quickly and its a known issue. ive experienced this as well when i was hitting a centurion that shut down from overheating. hit him with 4 volleys of 3 srm4s, lbx 10, 2 med las on his rear armor but didnt die. however the moment he powered up again i shot 1 med las and he died instantly.

Not an opinion. That raven probably wasnt where you thought it was, THAT happens fairly often. not saying there isnt an exploit, but there are other legitimate reasons that have been established.

There is also the problem of the AC/20 sluggish bullet velocity. Not that hard to miss with ballistics and their wonky convergence either.

I don't know how much of this is true.. I do know I put 4 rounds from an AC20 into the back of a cat tonight and it didn't die. Are we sure its a "hack" and not just dyslexic hit box retarditry like when the nose of the Dragon was a beacon for every missile in a match? just in reverse...?

There is something fishy lately about the damage some weapons are doing vs what would NORMALLY be weak points. No names.. but if there are cheaters, I hope their caught and thoroughly banned for life and their meta-material goods distributed to the playerbase. If its just bug-ridden mechdesigns/weapons/armor hit boxes.. PGI will fix em when they're found.

Peace

I can confirm I just saw a Catapult taking

4 shots with 2 Large Laser/2 Medium Laser
2 shots of AC/20
5 shots of SSRM 2 x 2

his HP did not go down below 95%

this was the damaged i did to him. there were 3 other mechs shooting at him at the time.
He was a cat, wasn't moving fast.

I am sure he is using some kind of cheat.
