Stepping it up a little earlier to cut off any confusion about where/when/what to expect for this week's patch.

Some things to please bear in mind:

Server downtime typically begins around 10 am PST (1pm EST, 6 pm GMT)

Server downtime typically lasts about 2-3 hours. Forums will be down/unstable during this downtime. You may not be able to login.

Patch deployment comes after the downtime (approx 1pm PST, 4 pm EST, 9pm GMT)

Patch notes are typically not delivered until the patch deployment phase.

Patch Notes will be available here when they are ready:

http://mwomercs.com/game/patch-notes

Some items to expect in this week's patch: All items subject to change.

This is an informative What to Expect topic; If you disagree with any of the items slated to be included in this week's patch, this is not the place to make those complaints. Many topics already exist for that purpose.

Topic under construction: I'll be keeping my eye on new/updated items and adding/removing items as they are announced. One stop shopping for those of you without time to trawl the forum.

of course, we can also expect a few new bugs, but we're just being pessimistic in that regard.

It worked really well last week.

I know that, I guess I just meant 100% works lol. We still had those guys that were "why are the servers down", "wheres my patch". I just want people to look before posting is all and you are helping to minimize that so I thanked you.

These threads should be stickied ASAP. But we will see many "wheres the patch/what time is patch?" threads despite this excellent, easy to understand post.

It will probably be stickied once some mods wake up. I posted it fairly early this week, no rush.

If FPS goes down a step further in this patch, I won't be able to play :) Worried...

Wasn't the cockpit bobblehead for the developer killers also slated to be released this patch? Or did I remember the date wrong?

Stickied temporarily, will be removing sticky one day after patch as it will outlive its usefulness by then.

As this thread takes care of all the questions, any 'where did the servers go' threads will be insta-locked and linked to here to keep the clutter out of the GD forums.

I'd like to clarify for anyone confused that Redshift is not a staff member, and is basing all of this on staff member announcements in the recent past. Should something be delayed in the patch, it's not his fault, and he's doing this as a free service, kind of, for you guys who don't spend that much time on the forum.

Just so that we won't have this thread turn into a flame thread should something be pushed back again.

Thanks, btw.

There is no bobblehead listed for the winners of the Piranha Hunt: There is a banner item scheduled for Dec 11 (also a banner item for "community contributor") ;) http://mwomercs.com/...-nov-27th-2012/

I'm certainly not a staffer, moderator, administrator, or developer. Just a contributor. All items are clearly linked to dev posts for confirmation.

you're welcome :)

The changes may not be of epic proportions, but I like the those patch notes!
The description of the reduced shaking/smoke effects sound just right, PGI really nailed it in my oppinion.
We get the ECM which could stop the LRM-boat fleets, that should be interesting.
While I won't buy the hero mech, if PGI earns some bucks with it, thats great.
Some new goodies as well... they won't make me shed tears of joy but it never hurts to have s lot of those.
And 8vs8 is back... that will be great! I definitely won't miss the stupid "counting down" in teamspeak!

The counting down trick will still have a use: Scrimming against a specific enemy team.

This is good stuff. A great addition to the forums.

I would hope this idea spreads to a whole subsection of the forum, similar to Command Chair, for those of us without time to read the entire forum.

This post lists the Commando 1B as the Commando variant that can mount an ECM. The ECM guide says it will be the COM-2D, however. Which will it be ?

Thanks.

I was under the impression that along with the Gauss durability nerf/crit explosion AC10 and AC20 were going to get a buff and the PPC/ER PPC would get a velocity increase.

Were these changes never intended for this patch (meaning I figgered wrongly) or are they just not being mentioned?

PGI isn't exactly the best at giving clear information, so your guess is as good as ours.
