All general feedback posts about the new colour system will be merged into this thread for simplified reference and overview.

Only problem I see with it is your pricing is way to high on some of it. Patch isn't live so I have no idea what non-premium options there are but if it's a color you want to throw around your looking at over $10 or 3000 MC (that's mech money or 10 mech bays). That seems a little steep for a cosmetic item.

When a color is unlocked, is it unlocked for all Mechs, or just a single Chassis, like the camo patterns?

I really like how the system works!
But the prices are insane again... these are just colors... are you serious?

Supposed to be for all mechs if you chose the permanent option.

No. Only for a particular chassis.

Where do you see that? Because it only says camo patterns are limited to a chassis.

It then says:

Colours are no longer available for single use applications - all colour purchases are permanent unlocks - which means all future applications of an unlocked colour have no cost!

So I guess it could go either way. If its 1000 MC for a single chassis that's even worse.

Well, I mean, as I understand it - if you buy a camospec it will be available for all variants of the same mech.

I can understand that Camo is per Chassis, since there's texture mapping involved.... but colors should be for all mechs, since all mechs already have areas masked out for different colors and then a hue change is applied.

Yes Camo spec is limited to variants of the same mech. Camo Spec and colors are two different things. If it's as you think it's going to be then every clan/merc corp/group/whatever is going to be out of pocket a decent amount of money if you want to rep your groups colors unless you stick to the generics.

Colours unlock for all Mechs. Patterns unlock for a Chassis (IE. you buy it for your HBK 4SP, and it is also unlocked for your 4P, 4G, 4J, etc.)

There you go from the mouth of "god".....as it were.

People are voting before they've even been able to see the system...

I put neutral because it sounds like bad pricing to me, but I haven't tried it.

But seriously, I can't see why anyone would have a problem with the new system. More colours, permanent unlocks, and to cap it all off, an MC refund for all those who spent real money on colour and pattern unlocks. That is, as they say, the right way to do things.

One point of contention: why set the chassis pattern unlocks (ex: cataphract dazzle) at 10 times the per-variant unlocks, when there are usually fewer than 5 variants to unlock them for? Seems like one is very unlikely to make use of the one-time fee.

I am soooo looking forward to seeing new colours and to be able to buy them to keep!

*checking bank account to buy some more MC*

Thing is, you MIGHT want Dazzle for a while. Then later you decide to change it to Woodland or Urban or whatever. Then later you want to go back to Dazzle. If you bought Dazzle as a perm, you can do that as much as you want for each Cataphract.

Today would be a good day to buy Dazzle, 1/2 price!

I get your point, but I see why they did what they did as well...up to the user as to how he/she spends their MC.

Seriously these are just colours.

Why the **** is customizing this damn expensive?

I'd love to build custom mechs so everybody recognizes you but - nevertheless - i won't be able to spend that much $$ for it.

Sadly.

I hope the devs understand that a well priced MC-colour is much more helpful than this expensive **** :)

Why are people giving the most feedback about colours? They mean absolutely nothing. Please give feedback on issues that actually matter like game balance and bugs.

imho prices are too steep.

500MC for premium.

250MC for standard.

an option to pay to unlock skins across ALL chassis still is lacking. imho why would i want phranken on all 3 atlas? I'd rather do 1 with dazzle, one with phranken, etc, but again I dont want to pay again if I change my mind.

Even if it meant 5000MC to unlock a camo across all specs I would pay that over unlocking phranken for all atlases.

I like the changes, just my personal opinion/thoughts.

UUhhh....... Obvious Troll is obvious!? :)

Anyway, while the pricing for patterns looks acceptable to me, I'd agree with everybody else that 500MC standard and 1000MC for premium colors is too much! I don't care that it's unlocked for all mechs, it's just a freaking color!
I'd say, the 50%-off deal pushes the Camo-colors into the acceptable-range for this week, but it's still rather high for a simple color... (it's still almost as much as a mechbay)

Now, what I wanna know;
If I buy a single-use-pattern for one of my mechs, will I have to buy it again when I only want to change it's colors?
